Super Bowl LVIII is the most highly anticipated game of the year, with many people trying to buy last-minute tickets—but they'll have to pay up to $100,000 to get their hands on one.

On February 11 the Kansas City Chiefs will face the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas and fans have eagerly been awaiting the game, not just so they can hopefully cheer their team on to victory, but also so they can get a glimpse of Taylor Swift, who is rumored to be attending to support her boyfriend, Chiefs' tight end Travis Kelce.

Sunday will see some of the best players of their generation, such as Nick Bosa, Patrick Mahomes and Kelce, battle it out. Off the field, celebrities will be swarming the city; Usher will be headlining the halftime show and the likes of Luke Combs, U2 and Wu-Tang Clan are just a few of the acts who will perform at other events over the weekend.

However, not everyone will be able to afford to attend the 2024 Super Bowl, as ticket prices on Ticketmaster have skyrocketed in the lead-up to the event, with asking prices of up to nearly $100,000.

At the time of writing, the cheapest ticket available on Ticketmaster costs $6,836, plus fees, which is up in the nosebleeds. The most expensive ticket costs a whopping $99,000, plus fees, to be seated in section 117, row 28.

According to USA Today Sports, ticket prices for the 2024 Super Bowl are among the most expensive in history—and there could be a few reasons why.

Firstly, the Super Bowl is being played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for the first time. While the city is already accustomed to being packed with tourists, officials are still expecting an additional 150,000 visitors for a total of approximately 450,000 over the weekend. The city has spent months preparing for its biggest event of the year in hopes it will draw large crowds.

There is also a strong chance that the popularity of the two teams playing have affected ticket prices. Before this year, the most expensive Super Bowl game to attend was when the Chiefs and 49ers played each other in Miami in 2020, according to TickPick, an online ticket marketplace.

Not to mention the possible Taylor Swift influence, as the demand for Chiefs tickets has increased since she started attending games to cheer on Kelce. According to statistics provided to Newsweek by Greenback Tax Services, Swifties attending the Super Bowl hoping to see their idol will spend an average of $7,094 to do so.

Dom Aldworth, head of marketing at Gambling Zone and sports expert, told Newsweek that football has cause to thank Swift's fans.

"It is clear by now that Taylor Swift is one of the most powerful women in the world, with an enormous audience and a net worth of $1.1 billion," he said. "The global sensation's fanbase, whilst loved by many, is predominantly comprised of young women and as such her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce has introduced the world of the NFL to a new, slightly untapped, market.

"Since her first appearance at a Chiefs game in September, online interest in the NFL and Kelce's team in particular has soared. Google searches for the NFL as a whole have increased by 527 percent and for the Kansas City Chiefs specifically by a colossal 3,200 percent. Whilst it would be difficult to attribute this increase in popularity solely to Swift, it was also reported that since she began appearing at games there has been a 400 percent hike in sales of the Kelce jerseys."

It's not just regular tickets for the Super Bowl that are expensive. As per the Suite Experience Group, a "Club Suite" package cost $950,000 as of Monday morning, which gets the purchaser a "semi-private" suite with no side walls. A food and alcoholic beverage package is included, along with 20 suite tickets.

The "Owners' Club Suite" package costs $1.8 million and is fully private, with a private bathroom, kitchenette, and options for catering. It also includes 20 suite tickets and a food and beverage package.
