Season 2 of Sweet Magnolias was released on Netflix on Friday, February 4, and the finale has left fans desperate for more thanks to its many cliffhangers.

The show follows three South Carolina women, Helen (Heather Headley), Dana Sue (Brooke Elliott), and Maddie (JoAnna Garcia Swisher) as they help each other navigate their lives, from their relationships to their careers.

And from Ryan (Michael Shenefelt) proposing to Helen, to a person slashing Dana Sue's tyres, to Cal (Justin Bruening) potentially having to face the skeletons in his closet, there's a lot that fans will no doubt be curious to know more about.

Here is everything we know so far about Sweet Magnolias Season 3.

Will 'Sweet Magnolias' Be Getting A Season 3?

Season 2 of Sweet Magnolias left a number of questions unanswered, and it truly put Maddie, Helen and Dana Sue through their paces.

However, as yet, there is no news on whether the show will be getting a third season, as Netflix has yet to comment on its potential renewal.

Given the second season only came out on Friday, February 4, it's not so surprising that the show has yet to be given a renewal order because the streaming platform is no doubt waiting to see how it performs in the coming weeks.

Showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson took to Twitter on Saturday, February 5 to reveal that the programme was already number 1 in the U.S.

In a Tweet sharing her delight, Anderson wrote: "Thank you to those who are watching. Thank you to an amazing cast, crew, and writers' room (@11monthanthony,@Shani_Am_Mo,@McTschampion,@vcwoods24,@howwastheplay). Thank you to an incredible team at @netflix. What a blessing."

If the show keeps this momentum then it may well be that Netflix confirms whether it will renew the show for a third season sooner rather than later.

'Sweet Magnolias' Showrunner on What Could Come in Season 3

Sweet Magnolias has left a lot for fans to look forward to if the show is renewed, and Anderson has spoken about what to expect in a possible future season.

In an interview with TVLine, Anderson discussed a umber of the shocking reveals in Season 2, particularly in the finale.

One such surprising moment is when Ryan, Helen's on-and-off boyfriend, proposed to her, and Anderson said Helen's decision between him or Erik (Dion Johnstone) will not be an easy one.

Without giving too much away, Anderson told the publication: "The thing that Ryan has is the weight of history. The thing that Erik has is the promise of a new path. It was our intent to land her at that crossroads and have her grapple with what the two roads diverging.

"To grapple with two very different relationships and try to decide in a moment of shock and surprise which means more. This is the whole reason we want a Season 3, to address that question... and maybe two or three others."

She went on to detail who could have been the person to slash Dana Sue's tyres, admitting it was someone who is out for revenge and is known to the lead trio.

Anderson said: "I will just say she has a past in common with our ladies and some other folks in town. She's been away for a while, but she has come back with an agenda. She has come home to settle some scores."

Sweet Magnolias Seasons 1-2 are available to watch on Netflix now.
