Sydney Sweeney Trolled by Airline in Viral Message

Sydney Sweeney was trolled by an Irish airline after revealing her celebrity crush to the world.

In a video posted by IMDB, the White Lotus star admitted to having a thing for Leonardo DiCaprio while growing up.

Sweeney said her crush on the actor was sparked by the 1996 Baz Luhrmann adaption of Romeo and Juliet, in which DiCaprio played the titular heartthrob.

"After that I just ended up watching every other film that he's ever done," she said in the clip.

The confession spread on social media, but one company thinks Sweeney has no chance with the Oscar winner.

On Tuesday, a film fan posted side-by-side photos of Sweeney and the Titanic star to X, formerly Twitter, along with the caption: "Sydney Sweeney says her celebrity crush is Leo DiCaprio."

Irish airline Ryanair shared the post, adding that the Madame Web star "too old for him."

The internet has long joked about DiCaprio's penchant for younger women. The 49-year-old A-lister allegedly won't date anyone over the age of 25, with the average age of his girlfriends being 22.9—according to research by one dedicated Reddit user.

This unfortunately rules out Sweeney, who turned 26 in September.

At the time of publishing, Ryanair's post had received 11.6 million views.

"Booking a ticket on @Ryanair after this," said Jake.

"You won the internet today," wrote Eli Burton, while Osita Mba told the airline to "behave."

Others expressed sympathy for Sweeney, with Olamide writing: "Sorry girlie but you JUST missed your window."

"Cutoff is 25," said Mohammad.

"Only one year man s*** I feel bad for her," wrote @bookbard64.

"She believes she can change him," joked Nodares, while @cryptonic202020 said: "Stranger things have happened."

Newsweek has reached out to Sweeney and DiCaprio for comment via email.

DiCaprio is currently dating 25-year-old Italian supermodel Vittoria Cerretti. In recent years he has also been linked to runway icon Gigi Hadid, Sports Illustrated cover star Nina Agdal and Israeli model Eden Polani—who are all at least two decades younger than The Revenant actor.

He dated actress Camila Morrone from 2017 to 2022, with the couple reportedly splitting just before her 25th birthday.

Sweeney is engaged to Chicago businessman Jonathan Davino. The pair first sparked dating rumors in 2018, with the Euphoria star keeping their romance out of the public eye.

"I don't date people in the spotlight," Sweeney told Cosmopolitan in February 2022. "I don't date actors or musicians or anyone in entertainment because I can just be normal Syd that way and it's easiest."
