Taylor Swift's impact on the Kansas City Chiefs has gone viral on social media.

Newsweek has reached out to a Chiefs spokesperson via email for comment.

The Context

Swift is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and the couple were first linked nearly two years ago in July 2023. At the time, the NFL star attended the "Cruel Summer" singer's record-busting Eras Tour in Kansas City, Missouri. Later that same year, she was seen in the crowd at a handful of his football games, and by October 2023, they confirmed their romance at a Saturday Night Live after-party.

Today, their relationship appears to be getting serious, as Kelce hinted on a recent episode of his New Heights podcast—which he co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce—that he's living with Swift.

"We've got chimneys and we've got furniture," the Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? host told listeners, seemingly referring to his girlfriend by using "we."

What To Know

On Wednesday, May 14, imdoeproblem took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a message about Swift's effect on the Chiefs.

The X account reposted an announcement from ESPN about a docuseries coming out later this year. "One of the most storied franchises in football history gives an inside look into a modern-day dynasty," ESPN's note read. "The Kingdom coming this fall."

"Taylor Swift has took me places no man could," @imdoeproblem added alongside the network's news.

At the time of publication, @imdoeproblem's post racked up more than 402,600 views and 11,000 likes.

Earlier this year, Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt spoke out about how Swift has impacted the team.

"Indirectly, the NFL has seen an impact," Hunt said in a CNBC Sport videocast in February. "Certainly, our fan base took a big leap forward last year—particularly with female, specifically young female fans."

What People Are Saying

In the comments underneath the X post, imdoeproblem elaborated further on Swift's role within the NFL.

X user LMariwithane wrote in a message with over 3,600 views and 77 likes: "Never thought I would care about this sport, but here I am."

In response, imdoeproblem said: "I still don't care about the sport. Just this one player."

twogravesonegun shared in a note with over 3,800 views and 72 likes: "I genuinely hate football and yet I know the names of players, I know the name of the coach, I know which games they've won in the last two seasons. It's terrifying. Taylor's influence is unstoppable."

imdoeproblem replied: "You tweeted this from my brain."

adityafear7969 added: "I would not have gaf [give a f***] about Football if Tayprincess didn't."

imdoeproblem said: "Absolutely."

What Happens Next

The Chiefs' new schedule was recently released, and the team will begin their preseason on August 9. Their first regular season game is set to take place on Friday, September 5, against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Historically, Swift has supported Kelce from the stands, so it's likely fans will see more of the 14-time Grammy Award winner soon, following a hiatus from the spotlight post-Eras Tour.
