Taylor Swift Fans Want to Destroy Joe Alwyn

Taylor Swift is no stranger to using songs as a way to convey her feelings, and new information about one of her hits, You're Losing Me, has thrown her fans into chaos.

Although Swift is happily dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, her new romance follows a breakup with long-term partner Joe Alwyn earlier this year.

Swift and Alwyn dated for six years, officially separating in April. Despite some engagement rumors, the actor and pop star went their separate ways after "differences in their personalities," as reported by Glamour.

A month later, her Midnights bonus track, You're Losing Me, was released, which has lyrics such as "Stop, you're losin' me/ I can't find a pulse/ My heart won't start anymore / For you/ Cause you're losin' me" that some people thought told of her relationship running cold towards the end with Alwyn.

However, music collaborator on the hit Jack Antonoff recently shared a nugget of information that has Swifties in uproar. Taking to Instagram Stories on November 29, he shared a little insider knowledge to celebrate that the track had now landed on Spotify.

Accompanying an image of Swift preparing some food on a surface in a kitchen, he said: "You're Losing Me is out today. A very special track from the Midnights sessions that's finally streaming! Written and recorded at home on 12/5/21 right after Taylor ate these raisins."

The bombshell that the track was actually written in 2021 has fans wondering how Alwyn treated Swift, with the pair being together until early 2023, sometime after the track was penned.

Another particularly heavy section of the song has lyrics: "And I wouldn't marry me either/ A pathological people pleaser/ Who only wanted you to see her/ And I'm fadin', thinkin.'"

Swift decided to treat her fans to the track after being announced as Spotify's Global Top Artist in 2023.

She took to X, formerly Twitter on November 29 and said: "Um ok this is unreal?? I just wanted to say to anyone who listened to my music this year, anywhere in the world, thank you. Getting named Spotify's Global Top Artist in 2023 is truly the best birthday/holiday gift you could've given me.

"We've seriously had THE MOST fun this year out there on tour and now this. Are you serious. So I was trying to think of a way to thank you, and a lot of you have been asking me to put "You're Losing Me (From The Vault)" on streaming... so here you go! You can finally listen EVERYWHERE now."

Despite enjoying the song, fans were quick to connect the timeline of Swift and Alwyn, and with the added information now from Antonoff, they shared their theories and anger online.

One social media user said: "So she felt this way for years," while a second added: "Morning , hope everyone has a good one, except joe alwyn, hope he doesn't wake up."

A third commented: "We were asking if Joe Alwyn could fight for almost a year and a half after this song was written and he fr couldn't."

Falling on the day that former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger died, a distraught fan said: "Between Kissinger dying and Jack Antonoff m*rdering Joe Alwyn tonight is really just so much for me."

Other sentiments included: "Praying for Joe Alwyn downfall," and "Insane how she still tried to make it with him for a whole year after writing this devastating song."

Posted alongside a comedic video of a lady hitting a man with a cushion, a Swiftie posted: "Me last week: let's not hate on Joe Alwyn, they said it was a mutual break up on good terms, he gave her so many good years me after hearing YLM was written in 2021:."

The gifs were flowing as one of an angry person on the phone was used alongside this comment: "Wdym You're Losing Me was written in 2021??????????????? Wdym Taylor stayed with him FOR ANOTHER YEAR after treating her like s***??????????Joe Alwyn when I catch you...."

"Me collecting reasons to hate Joe Alwyn" was captioned on a video of someone tallying up a score.
