Taylor Swift and football tight end Travis Kelce may have made their romance official, but there is another budding relationship that has the singer's fans excited.

The 33-year-old pop star appears to have grown close with Brittany Mahomes—wife of Travis' teammate, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Newsweek has reached out to Taylor Swift for comment via email and Brittany Mahomes via Instagram.

Since Swift first showed up at Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium in October, the duo have been spotted cheering on their partners from the crowd. The games appear to have been a bonding experience for Swift and Brittany Mahomes, with the pair even developing their own secret handshake.

Their budding friendship melted hearts once again during Sunday's game. While watching the Chiefs vs. the Green Bay Packers, Swift and Mahomes were seen dancing and cheering from a suite at Wisconsin's Lambeau Field. The pop star even planted a kiss on the 27-year-old's forehead, with a video of the sweet moment receiving more than 148,000 views on social media.

However, other users were annoyed by the attention directed at Swift and her new pal, with @goodthunders calling the scene "cringe."

This isn't the first time that Swift and Mahomes friendship has angered NFL fans. The "Anti-Hero" hitmaker has been accused of "destroying football" with her appearances at Kelce's games, with Swift and Mahomes once dubbed "the two most hated people in the NFL" on social media.

Swift has also been criticized for befriending former soccer star Brittany Mahomes due to the allegations against her brother-in-law, Jackson Mahomes. The younger brother of Patrick Mahomes, the social-media influencer was arrested in May 2023 and charged with aggravated sexual battery. Jackson Mahomes has denied the claims.

Brittany Mahomes was slammed after defending her brother-in-law in an Instagram Q&A, with some social-media users dubbing her a "sexual abuser apologist." Swift's fans blasted the singer for befriending Mahomes, accusing her of being willing to silence and discredit victims and hang out with problematic people.
