Thousands had taken to the streets to celebrate with the Texas team after their 4-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday.

Cruz, who was riding on a military Humvee, was part of the parade and waved to the baseball fans.

However, in the clip, a person from the crowd launches a beer can at Cruz, hitting his hand before being deflected by his security team and the senator. The clip has already been viewed more than 4.5 million times on Twitter.

After the throw, the security man stood next to Cruz on the Humvee points out the person he believes throws the beer can. On ground security is then seen moving in to the direction, presumably to apprehend the individual.

Other videos of Cruz from the parade have gone viral as some crowd members heckle and boo the senator.

One video, that has so far been viewed more than 1.5 million times, was shared by KPRC2 sports journalist Chancellor Johnson.

He captioend the video: "Ted Cruz pulled off what I thought was impossible, getting booed at a championship parade."

He added: "Millions of people booing you and chanting 'you suck' for a parade that lasted for two hours. Yikes."

In addition to the boos, Cruz and his Humvee received thumb downs and some individuals raising their middle finger at the senator.

Cruz was also heckled and booed on October 23 when he attended Game 4 of the Houston Astros verse the New York Yankees.

These moments were captured on camera as Cruz attempted to leave the Yankee Stadium as he was met with jeering.

Investigative reporter and author Hunter Walker shared the clip to his Twitter page, which at the time had only 300,000 views. It has since garnered more than 630,000 views.

"Ted Cruz got one fan and a lot of boos while leaving a tied game in the top of the sixth inning," Walker captioned the video, in apparent criticism of Cruz.

The video showed that as Cruz attempted to leave he was met with boos and one fan asking for a selfie. One person can be heard telling the Senator to go back to Cancun.

This is in reference to a February 2021 winter storm in the state which caused significant powe outages as well as mass utility failures.

Cruz, however, had left the state ahead of the storm to holiday with his family in Cancun, Mexico. Following the backlash, he released a video issuing an apology.
