When the festive season arrives, it comes with a whole range of Christmas songs to help us get into the holiday spirit.

From classics like "All I Want for Christmas Is You" by Mariah Carey, to the many festive hits of crooners like Michael Bublé, the holiday season certainly seems to have its own soundtrack that listeners can't get enough of—at least until January.

As well as switching on the radio, listeners can also turn to streaming platforms like Apple Music and Spotify to get the festive season started—and some songs get chosen more than others. Here's a closer look at all the favorites.

Spotify provided Newsweek with data on the best-performing Christmas songs during the festive season, both for all time and around the globe.

The top 10 list may not surprise those familiar with the musical offerings during the holiday season, likely because these are songs that have been played again and again, year after year at Christmas time.

Mariah Carey, who recently made a bid to be known as the "Queen of Christmas," is top of the list with her track "All I Want for Christmas Is You," which was released in 1994 and has remained an iconic track for the holiday season.

Similarly, Wham! continues to rule supreme during Christmas with the 1984 song "Last Christmas," while Band Aid's song from the same year, "Do They Know It's Christmas?" also made it onto Spotify's top 10 list.

Several more recent Christmas songs have made it onto Spotify's list of most popular festive tunes of all time, with songs by Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber and Sia all making the Top 10.

Michael Bublé, who has recorded numerous Christmas songs, made the list with his rendition of "It's Beginning to Look a Lot like Christmas."

Classics like Bobby Helms' "Jingle Bell Rock" also made the Top 10, and viewers may also remember the song from its inclusion in Lindsay Lohan's iconic film Mean Girls.

Other iconic tracks to make the Top 10 list include Brenda Lee's "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree" and Andy Williams' It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year."
