'The Thing About Pam' Release Date: How To Watch and Where to Stream Online

The Thing About Pam is sure to be your next true crime binge thanks to its fascinating story and the almost unbelievable circumstances surrounding the actual case.

Starring Renée Zellweger in the title role of Pam Hupp, the show follows its eponymous character and her alleged connection to the murder of Betsy Faria.

How to Watch 'The Thing About Pam'

The Thing About Pam is based on the Dateline NBC podcast of the same name, which explores the real-life case that has been fictionalized in the limited series.

The killing of Betsy Faria was the subject of several Dateline NBC episodes, as well as the aforementioned inaugural episode of the show's podcast.

Betsy Faria was murdered in 2011 and her husband Russ was convicted of the crime, but he always insisted he didn't kill his wife. He was later exonerated, and the case revealed how the shocking chain of events was allowed to come to pass, with Hupp a central figure.

Hupp is current awaiting trial for the alleged killing of Betsy Faria, facing a charge of first degree murder. Hupp has repeatedly denied any involvement in the murder.

Given its close ties to Dateline, it should come as no surprise that the limited series will be coming to NBC.

The show will launch on NBC on Tuesday, March 8 from 10 p.m. EST, and episodes will air on a weekly basis.

Where 'The Thing About Pam' Will Be Available to Stream

Most NBC shows are made available to stream the next day on Hulu, but this will not be the case for much longer.

On Friday, March 4 an NBC spokesperson confirmed to Variety that NBC Universal had terminated its contract with Hulu so that its shows would instead land day-after-air on Peacock from fall 2022.

This decision is not a surprise, though, as the move has been in the works since 2019, prior to the launch of Peacock in 2020, according to the publication.

In January, per Variety, NBCU CEO Jeff Shell said on Comcast's Q4 earnings call: "Obviously, much of our strong NBC content premieres on Hulu. And over time, we'd like to bring that back to Peacock."

In a press release confirming the release date for The Thing About Pam (among other shows) NBC stated that upcoming programs would be released on Peacock.

The press release stated: "In addition to their curated linear timeslots, all new shows will be available to stream on Peacock."

Therefore fans hoping to stream the true crime series need only go to Peacock after it airs on the TV channel.

The Thing About Pam premieres on NBC on Tuesday, March 8 at 10 p.m. EST, and it will be released on a weekly basis thereafter.
