A TikToker in London live-streamed the moment he crashed his car after weaving in and out of traffic, followed shortly by the vehicle setting on fire.

In a startling video, as reported by MyLondon, the driver captured the time leading up to the crash from behind the steering wheel, telling another user: "This is my playground."

The car reportedly crashed into a highway's central reservation on Saturday, March 27 shortly after midnight.

Emergency services attended the scene and footage from witnesses driving past shows the car in flames on the side of the highway.

The driver was on a joint livestream with a fellow TikToker when it happened, as he filmed himself weaving in and out of traffic. As shown in the video, the other TikToker repeatedly asked how fast he was driving, asking: "What's the speed on? Man's playing with death."

Moments prior to the crash, the driver had similarly just missed another car, almost crashing into its side as it overtook. "I just nearly f***ing hit it," he could be heard saying.

The car however appeared to crash just seconds later as the screen went blank and a loud noise could be heard. The driver then picked the phone back up, but the video then cut out.

A video shared online by an alleged eye-witness showed the aftermath of the crash, with police and fire services parked near the burning vehicle. The car could be seen engulfed by flames in the clip.

The witness can be heard claiming to feel the heat of the flames as they drove past the crashed car.

Emergency services attended the crash and one man was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson told MyLondon: "Officers were called at 12.36 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, following reports a car had collided with the central reservation on the A13 just past the junction with Prince Regent Lane.

"Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service. London Fire Brigade also attended as the car was on fire following the collision. One man was treated for minor injuries. The driver will be summoned to court in due course."

A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade told MyLondon: "Firefighters were called to a car alight on the A13 Newham Way in Newham in the early hours of Saturday morning. The Brigade was called at 12.41 a.m. and the fire was under control by 12.51 a.m. One fire engine from East Ham Fire Station attended the scene."

Dangerous stunts featured on TikTok have been a regular problem. Last year, a TikToker was strongly criticised for a "death wish" video in which he stopped in front of a moving bus to pose.

According to TikTok's Community Guidelines, the app "defines dangerous acts or other dangerous behavior as activities conducted in a non-professional context or without the necessary skills and safety precautions that may lead to serious injury or death for the user or the public."

The rules specify that content that "depicts dangerous driving behavior" comes under these guidelines.
