A job candidate has gone viral online after making a hilarious-yet-irreversible blunder during her virtual interview for the role of an air hostess with SkyWest.

Chaylene Martinez was participating in a video interview, hoping to bag herself a new job. She didn't quite get that, but did manage to earn herself 3 million views online as she submitted a phone call with her friend in which she slammed the questions for her answer.

The video feature is used for many job interviews in the pandemic world, in a bid to reduce unnecessary face-to-face contact. Candidates are given questions that they then record their answers to. Some employers give the opportunity to record the answer a handful of times, while others simply give one chance.

Unbeknown to Martinez, this interview took on the latter format. Martinez fell at the first hurdle, openly dubbing the questions the "stupid, cheesiest question I've ever read in my life" while on the phone to a friend.

"What is your impression of SkyWest company culture and how does that resonate with you?" the company asked Martinez.

While climbing over her sofa, she began to talk to a friend to get their seal of approval on her answer first. "So, at work we were just talking about mission statements, like every company has a mission statement," she said.

"I just can't word this correctly, and you have to record yourself saying it so it's so awkward," she ironically added.

She began to explain her potential answer before asking her friend to let her practice. Then she noticed the worst and immediately gasped, adding an "oh no."

After a few moments of confusion and staring at the screen, Martinez immediately went into full professional mode and explained: "I'm so sorry, I didn't realize it was recording. I was practicing, so I was going to say...sorry."

Despite the blunder not being how she planned for the interview to go, it's been met with positivity online, as users have flooded the comments with appreciation and even demanded she still gets the job.

Extremely online company Duolingo commented on the video, writing: "Okay, but work for us."

"This deserves an automatic hire. Adjusts and problem solves, showcasing collaborating skills through video and proficiency in technical aspects," commented a TikTok user.

One alleged SkyWest employee even claimed the video had found itself on an employee Facebook group, where users expressed similar sentiments. "I work for Sky West and this made its way to the Sky West Facebook page and let me tell you every comment is all of using 'PLEASE hire her,'" they claimed.
