It seems that some TikTok users have. In a new trend, TikTokers are composing music to accompany clips of animals making all sorts of sounds—whining, chirping, and yowling to name a few. The results are unexpected and surprisingly catchy songs that might convince you your pet has potential as a vocalist.
One of the pioneers of this trend appears to be TikTok user @hirokisan79. He has amassed over 40,000 followers and 1.3 million likes since posting for the first time in November 2020 and is known for his musical duets with cats, dogs, and birds. He also plays music alongside clips featuring mundane household noises, such as the sound of a ping pong ball bouncing on the ground, or a child jumping on a bed.
In his most popular video, titled "Dog's Song," @hirokisan79 stitches a clip of himself playing the piano with a video of a whining dog, originally posted by user @camillathedopedog. Viewed on its own, the whining dog hardly sounds musical. But with @hirokisan79's piano accompaniment, the sound is transformed into a melody. The video was posted to TikTok on Sunday and has already been viewed over 1.7 million times.
