T.J. Holmes called Andrew Shue a "dear friend" prior to rumors of an alleged affair with Shue's wife, Amy Robach.

Last week, photos of the GMA3: What You Need to Know co-hosts' vacation in upstate New York surfaced, along with pictures of them out for drinks and holding hands in the back of a car. While Holmes, 45, and Robach, 49, have not addressed the speculation directly, they did appear to mock the drama on air on December 2.

"You know, it's too bad it's Friday. It's been a great week. I just want this one to keep going and going and going," Holmes joked on GMA3, just two days after the Daily Mail published the images.

In response, Robach said to "speak for yourself."

"I am very excited about the weekend—and I'm sure everyone else is too. We all love our Fridays around here," she told him. "Some of us do, at least."

Since then, the broadcasters have been temporarily removed from the program. In the meantime, Stephanie Ramos and Gio Benitez are filling in as co-anchors.

Holmes and Robach have each been married twice.

Holmes split from his first wife, Amy Ferson, in 2007 before saying, "I do," to Marilee Fiebig in 2010. He shares kids Brianna Holmes and Jaiden Holmes with Ferson and daughter Sabine Holmes with Fiebig.

Robach walked down the aisle with Tim McIntosh in 1996. They got divorced in 2009 and share two daughters, Ava McIntosh, born in 2002, and Annie McIntosh, born in 2006. In February 2010, she wed Melrose Place actor Andrew Shue. Shue, 55, meanwhile, is a dad to three sons: Nate, Aidan and Wyatt.

TikTok user @jenshwa, who boasts more than 18,000 followers on the platform, shared a clip on the platform from GMA3 that showed Holmes speaking about Robach and Shue's marriage.

"It's a love story like none other," Holmes said. "You're about to hear about it, folks. This is the part of the show uh really—we joke, we laugh and we have a good time here, but these are absolutely two of my favorite people on the planet. Of course, you all know Amy Robach and her husband here, Andrew Shue, who is a dear, dear friend as well."

Holmes interviewed the couple in October 2021 for their children's book, Better Together, which detailed the blending of two families.

"Even though they're having fun here and they can smile, and laugh, and hug and kiss, these are two folks who got together, both divorced, and also she had two girls, he had three sons, and that family came together. It wasn't always easy. It wasn't always easy," Holmes said, "But now, here they are."

At the time of publication, the video had been viewed more than 1.4 million times and liked over 46,000 times.

"He said 2 of his favorite people then took the man's wife," one person wrote in a comment, which racked up over 3,000 likes.

"This is why I have trust issues!" a second said, while a third added, "This is BIZZARE."

"That didn't age well," a separate user chimed in.

Holmes and Robach have deactivated their Instagram accounts amid the drama. Meanwhile, Shue deleted all photos of his spouse on his own account.
