The new, ninth-generation Toyota Camry, one of the best-selling sedans in America for the past 20 years, debuted today, ahead of the 2023 LA Auto Show.
The 2025 Toyota Camry will offer more power than the outgoing model along with new exterior and interior styling. It will only come with an electrified powertrain.
The company's standard Safety Sense 3.0 package also gets more comprehensive and all-wheel drive is now offered on all grades.
The midsize, four-door, five-passenger Camry has been locked in a sales battle with the Nissan Altima and Honda Accord for years, though lately Toyota has been handily trouncing those main two rivals. The Accord was new for 2023, the Altima was recently refreshed as well.
"Crossovers and SUVs dominate the industry these days, forcing brands who still make midsize sedans to really up their game. In Toyota's case, this means not only dialing up the Camry's styling and amenities, but also leverage its well-known hybrid expertise and pairing it with AWD for the first time. The Camry has been one of the most popular cars in the U.S. for decades, so the hope is that these changes are enough to keep happy the model's loyal — and large — fanbase," Dave Undercoffler, editor-in-chief of Autolist told Newsweek.

The new Camry was designed at Toyota's locations in Newport Beach, California and Ann Arbor, Michigan. Its new fascia features slim LED headlights to match the daytime running lights and taillights.
The sportier SE and XSE grades have a roofline with functional aerodynamic air ducts, front-side winglets and a rear diffuser. The Camry XSE also comes with a color matched front grille and black trunk accents, along with dark 19-inch multispoke wheels. Camry SE models have 18-inch wheels.
Two new exterior color options for 2025 include Ocean Gem and Heavy Metal. The Toyota Camry XSE is now available with a two-tone look with a black roof and a few color options.
The 2025 Camry has only one powertrain rather than the two-engine option of the previous generation. The new 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is linked with a hybrid power system that makes 232 total horsepower (30 more than the current all-wheel drive hybrid).
The new model will be offered in front- or electronic all-wheel drive.
Moving to the cabin, the SE comes with SofTex-trimmed seats in brown or black. The XSE adds a standard leather-trimmed interior with patterns and perforations in either blue or black. Both sporty trims comes with standard aluminum sport pedals and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters.
The more pedestrian Camry LE features an ocean wave-inspired design on the fabric in brown or black.
The upmarket Camry XLE will be the first Camry to feature leather and Dinamica microfiber-trimmed (faux suede) in gray or black. New seats and headrests have been softened and reshaped, and feature heating and cooling on more expensive models.
Toyota says the XSE and XLE will have quieter cabins thanks to the standard front-side acoustic laminated glass.

The new Camry also comes with a push-to-start button, dual-zone automatic climate control system, driver's memory seat and memory side view mirrors. Camry XLE is available with automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers and a power tilt and slide panoramic roof.
Lower-end versions of the Camry come with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster that is paired with an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen. Camry XLE and XSE get twin 12.3-inch versions of those displays. Those more expensive models also come with an available 10-inch head-up display with speedometer reading, warning indicators and turn-by-turn navigation.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging and a combination of USB-A and USB-C ports come standard. It also has 4G LTE Wi-Fi with a 30-day, 3-gigabyte trial included with purchase.
Emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, lane tracing, road sign assist and automatic high beams are standard on all 2025 Toyota Camrys. Blind spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert are now also standard. XSE and XLE models with the Premium Plus Package also get traffic jam assist, front-cross traffic alert, lane change assist, parking sensors and a panoramic view monitor.
Toyota didn't reveal pricing no fuel company numbers for the new Camry but the current least expensive LE Hybrid starts at $28,855 before destination and taxes and the most expensive XSE Hybrid is $34,295. Experts expect prices to stay close to that when the 2025 Camry officially goes on sale next spring.
