Travis, Jason Kelce on Panthers Owner Throwing Drink: 'Just Punch Me'

As David Tepper's Carolina Panthers continued their frustrating season on Sunday with a 26-0 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Panthers owner was caught on video throwing his drink on Jaguars fans.

Count Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his brother (and Philadelphia Eagles center) Jason Kelce among the many who thought Tepper was way out of line.

On the latest episode of their New Heights podcast, the brothers discussed Tepper's actions.

"It's almost like a snooty, 'F*** you, I'm higher up than you,'" Travis said. "Like, spitting on someone, throwing a drink on someone ..."

Jason said he would rather settle the issue physically than have a drink thrown on him.

"I'd rather you just punch me in the face," Jason said. "Let's just settle it. I don't need the disrespect. Punching me in the face out of anger is not disrespectful. Throwing a drink on me or spitting on me is disrespectful. Does that make sense?"

"It does to me. I don't know why, but it does," Travis said chuckling. "Just punch me in the face."

Tepper was later fined $300,000 for the incident by the NFL, which cited "unacceptable conduct." In a statement, Tepper said he regrets his behavior.

"I should have let NFL stadium security handle any issues that arose," Tepper said. "I respect the NFL's code of conduct and accept the league's discipline for my behavior."

The Kelce brothers agreed that getting punched (rather than getting a drink thrown on you) might even bring about some clarity.

"Might have a moment of reflection right there, like, 'Why did I just get punched in the face?'" Travis said.

"But at no point are you like, 'Did I deserve to have a drink thrown on me?'" Jason agreed. "'F*** no, I didn't.'"

The brothers added that at least Tepper is making a ton of money as owner of the Panthers, even as the team struggles.

"Shout out to the frustrating times that this guy is going through right now, just getting heckled by Jaguar fans now," Travis said.

"Eh. He's getting paid," Jason said.

The Panthers can't even claim the first round of the NFL Draft as consolation for clinching the worst record in the league with their loss on Sunday. They owe the No. 1 overall pick to the Chicago Bears as a result of a trade with the Bears to get last year's No. 1 pick, which Carolina used to acquire quarterback Bryce Young.

The Chiefs and Eagles will both wrap up their regular seasons on Saturday at 4:25 p.m. The Chiefs face the Los Angeles Chargers, while the Eagles will take on the New York Giants.
