Meghan McCain on Sunday lambasted former President Donald Trump for his recent dinner with Kanye West and Holocaust denier and white supremacist Nick Fuentes.
McCain, a conservative political commentator and former co-host on ABC's The View, made the comments during an appearance on Fox News' Media Buzz. Speaking with host Howard Kurtz and fellow guest Kristin Hawn, a Democratic strategist, McCain said Trump's meeting at Mar-a-Lago with the two controversial figures last week shows that he is "completely unfit to run for president."
Following the dinner at his Florida residence, Trump posted on his Truth Social platform that he was unaware of who Fuentes was and that he didn't know he would be accompanying West.
McCain objected to Trump even accepting a meeting with West—who legally changed his name to Ye last year—after the rapper posted antisemitic comments on social media last month.

"First and foremost, he shouldn't be meeting with Kanye West, period, after the virulent antisemitic bile he's been saying and tweeting and doing for weeks on end," McCain said. "We've all, unfortunately, had a front-row seat to watching this extremely dangerous bile at a time when antisemitic hate crimes are at an all-time high."
West has said he visited Trump in order to ask the former president to be his running mate for his own 2024 run for the White House. The rapper also said that Trump seemed impressed with Fuentes during the dinner, which has generated negative publicity for Trump following his November 15 announcement that he would be running for president again in 2024.
The former president has long been a foe of McCain after he continuously disparaged her late father, Republican Senator John McCain of Arizona. Among his many critical comments of the former Republican presidential candidate is questioning his status as a war hero for being captured during the Vietnam War.
Meghan McCain has denounced Trump numerous times, and has said she hopes he faces legal consequences for what she said is his role in inciting his followers to commit violence during the January 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.
She said on Media Buzz that Trump had a responsibility to find out who his dinner guests were going to be when West was coming to Mar-a-Lago.
"Howie, if you and Kristin invited me to dinner and said I'm inviting X person, and I don't know who they are, and it's a professional dinner, I'm going to find out who they are, and I'm not running for president of the United States," McCain said, adding that she feels Fuentes is "one of the most dangerous, notorious white supremacist holocaust deniers."
She continued, "A lot of people are freaking out. There's a bunch of reports of anonymous people from Trumpland that are really seeing what a big error this is, how horrific this is. I think it's just another example of why he's completely unfit to run for president right now."
