Tucker Carlson has responded to Jennifer Lawrence saying she has nightmares about him, saying it's part of being a public figure.

The right-wing pundit poked fun at the Hunger Games star after she discussed her rift with her deeply conservative family in Kentucky and said she has recurring nightmares about the Fox News host in an interview with Vogue.

"When you decide to work in television, you lose control of a lot of things," Carlson said during Tuesday night's episode of Tucker Carlson Tonight.

"Foremost, the way other people perceive you. So can it really be your fault, are you really responsible, if major Hollywood starlets dream about you?" he asked before putting on a pair of black-framed spectacles.

"Maybe it's the sexy glasses," he quipped.

Lawrence, 32, discussed her political views and activism in a new cover story for Vogue's October issue and the Oscar winner told the magazine: "I can't f*** with people who aren't political anymore. You live in the United States of America. You have to be political. It's too dire. Politics are killing people."

In the interview, Vogue stated that Lawrence had attempted to overcome her "recurring nightmares" about Carlson with a therapist.

"I just worked so hard in the last five years to forgive my dad and my family and try to understand: It's different. The information they are getting is different. Their life is different," she said.

The actress campaigned for Hillary Clinton in 2016 and she shared her sorrow over Donald Trump's victory.

"It breaks my heart because America had the choice between a woman and a dangerous, dangerous jar of mayonnaise. And they were like, 'Well, we can't have a woman. Let's go with the jar of mayonnaise,'" she said.

"I don't want to disparage my family, but I know that a lot of people are in a similar position with their families. How could you raise a daughter from birth and believe that she doesn't deserve equality? How?" she asked.

Newsweek has reached out to Jennifer Lawrence and Tucker Carlson for comment.

Back in September 2017, Carlson criticized Lawrence on his show over her comments about climate change and said she suffered from "Trump Derangement Syndrome."

"Why is it as people get richer and more famous, sometimes they get sillier and more out of touch?" he said at the time.

Carlson's colleague Trace Gallagher, added on Tuesday: "Jennifer Lawrence sees you in her head at night, the nightmares when she sleeps. She is likely not watching you now, but her parents are probably watching you, because they are fans."

On a lighter note, Lawrence also shared a "quintessentially Robert De Niro" story about her co-star and his somewhat blunt exit from her wedding rehearsal dinner with Vogue.
