Fox News host Tucker Carlson described President Joe Biden's prime time address to the nation as "horrifying" during his show on Thursday and said the president's remarks were "immoral."
Carlson's show began shortly before Biden started speaking at Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and he pre-emptively criticized the speech, while later showing clips of the president's remarks.
Biden offered his strongest criticism yet of former President Donald Trump and MAGA (Make America Great Again) Republicans, accusing them of being a threat to American democracy.
The Fox News host took issue with the president's speech and compared the red background in Philadelphia to something that might have been used in Nazi Germany.

While introducing a guest on his show, Carlson also said he found the speech "truly horrifying."
"We made fun of it at the top of the show because we really didn't know how else to respond," Carlson said on Thursday.
"But Joe Biden crossed into a very dangerous, very dangerous place. Tonight he declared in a speech in Philadelphia that anyone who disagrees with him is a threat to the country," he said.
The president repeatedly said that MAGA Republicans and former President Trump threatened democracy in the U.S. and criticized those who still don't accept the outcome of the 2020 presidential election. He also said that not all Republicans are extremists.
Carlson showed a clip from the speech where Biden said: "Too much of what's happening in our country today is not normal. Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic. The Republican Party today is dominated, driven, and intimidated by Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans. And that is a threat to this country."
"Yeah, they're a threat, says the guy with the blood-red Nazi background and Marines standing behind him," Carlson said. "It's a complete outrage that this is being sanctioned as a White House event. In other words, that this is the approved position of our government."
"It's totally immoral," Carlson added.
The Fox News host then showed a clip of Biden saying that MAGA Republicans "do not respect the Constitution. They do not believe in the rule of law. They do not recognize the will of the people."
"They refuse to accept the results of a free election. And they're working right now, as I speak, in state after state to give power to decide elections in America to partisans and cronies, empowering election deniers to undermine democracy itself," Biden said, adding that MAGA leaders "promote authoritarian leaders, and they fan the flames of political violence that are a threat to our personal rights, to the pursuit of justice, to the rule of law, to the very soul of this country.
"This truly nuts and threatening to the future of the United States," Carlson said.
"It's hard to believe he just did that, but he did," the Fox News host said.
Newsweek has asked the White House for comment.
