Andrew Garfield will put a detective's hat on for his true crime debut in FX's new drama Under the Banner of Heaven.

As he looks into their deaths, Detective Pyre begins to question the Church's teachings after he comes into contact with the suspected murderer.
Krakauer's non-fiction book looks into the deaths of Brenda and Erica at the hands of Ron and Dan Lafferty, who claimed to have received a communication with God telling them to commit the crimes.
Krakauer also looks into Mormon Fundamentalists and the leaders of sects such as the School of the Prophets, which the Lafferty brothers were once members of, while weaving their story into the narrative.
