Days of Our Lives fan-favorite Hope Williams Brady won't be the only character missing in action when the show returns with new episodes in the fall. Hope's long-lost daughter, Ciara Brady, will also be nowhere to be found when production for the NBC daytime soap opera resumes in September.

Victoria Konefal, who stars as the relentless young woman, announced that she will be departing from the show, Deadline reported on Friday. The 23-year-old has starred on the series since 2017 and won a Daytime Emmy nomination for the part in 2019.

"I cherish every moment I have spent working on Days of Our Lives. It is an honor and a privilege to work in an environment filled with so much talent and passion in every direction," Konefal said in a statement. "The experience and knowledge I've accumulated over the past three years is irreplaceable, and I'm forever grateful for it. I would love the opportunity to continue working with my castmates in the future, but at this time I will not be returning as a full-time cast member."

She continued, "To the cast and crew, it was an absolute pleasure working with you. To the loving and unwaveringly supportive fans, thank you. Thank you for joining me on my journey of finding Ciara Brady. It was a beautiful one. Cheers to some of the best days of my life."

Newsweek reached out to Konefal's reps for further comment.

Konefal's exit comes just weeks after Kristian Alfonso—the actor who stars as her character's mother, Hope, on the show—revealed that she would not be returning for another season. According to Deadline, Konefal's decision to leave has nothing to do with the departure of Alfonso, who has appeared on the award-winning show since 1993.

It seems as if all of the people most recognized for their roles as members of the Brady family may be stepping away from the show when it returns for its 56th season later this year. Greg Vaughan, who has starred as Eric Brady since 2012, appeared a bit apprehensive about his future with Days of Our Lives during his recent appearance on the podcast That's Awesome with Steve Burton & Bradford Anderson.

"I'm taking a break, if you will," he said on the podcast, which released on Wednesday. "Days was going through a renewal negotiation and not knowing where they were going to go. I just felt my time was coming to an end."

However, there is still a possibility that viewers will see Vaughan on the show from time to time—just not as a full-time cast member. "It's never over, so I'm not going to say it's over," he said.

A number of other cast members have announced their plans to exit Days of Our Lives since NBC announced the series' renewal back in January. Along with Konefal, Vaughan and Alfonso, actors Galen Gering, Chandler Massey, Casey Moss and Freddie Smith have also announced their departures.
