Haunting music plays in the background of a viral TikTok video that reveals a room that has not been entered for more than 30 years.
In a video seen nearly eight million times on @projectbelmont's TikTok account, viewers were offered a glimpse into the room inside a post-war home the TikTok user was renovating.
"I'm not scared, you are. #creepy #scary #fyp #renovation," the caption on the video read.
The TikTok user shared several other videos showing a closer look around the room, as well as other parts of the house. The tone of commenters varied as some found the space disturbing while others did not think much of the room.
Renovating old houses may require a special touch, and a piece published with lovePROPERTY discussed the experience one can have while working on one, as well as some interesting finds that can be discovered.
Buyers looking for a "fixer-upper" are encouraged to take a look at the property in person to get a clear picture of what work needs to be done and to have a professional survey the area to deliver a report outlining any repairs and alterations that need to be addressed.
When one begins their project, lovePROPERTY encourages them to note the difference between renovation and restoration.
"Historic features speak to a property's past, and unless they're in an unrescuable condition, restoring them and integrating them into your new home is usually the most respectful course of action," the piece stated.
Owners can uncover some hidden gems, like original floorboards and fireplaces.

"In the attic, there was a little room," the text over @projectbelmont's video read. "We were told the original owner built this as a little play room for his girl but nobody had been up there for over 30 years. So we decided to go up."
They said the only way to get up to the room was through a "man hole."
The camera panned around the room to show what appeared to be a frame for a small bed and an antique dresser.
Some viewers expressed their discomfort with the room and wondered if the room served a darker purpose than simply acting as a playroom.
"This doesn't make me scared, it makes me incredibly sad," one viewer wrote. "That poor baby."
"That 'playroom' looks more like a room they kept their kid in either shame, fear, or annoyance," another commented. "It's so small. I feel for her."
"This room is really unsettling," a comment read.
However, others rejected the notion that the room served a sinister purpose.
"I'm not getting bad vibes from this," a viewer claimed. "I feel like they just couldn't afford a bigger house [and] had to make the space work."
Wrote another, "Yall it's literally just a room. Folks made space where they could, [it's] not a horror story, just a dismantled old room."
In addition to featuring other parts of the property, @projectbelmont shared another video about the room that showed a door one commenter asked about.
They noted that there was not a lock on the door, and many viewers theorized that it likely led to a set of stairs.
"It looks like there used to be stairs there but got taken out," one commenter wrote. "I could be wrong but it's what it looks like to me."
When asked by another commenter what they planned to do with the room, @projectbelmont responded and said they're going to turn it into a children's library nook that will lead to a "retreat area" on the roof.
In addition to the room, @projectbelmont showed viewers the other parts of the house.
The TikTok user said it took more than five days to clean out what the former tenants left behind. Piles of miscellaneous items are seen outside and in the garage. The remains of dead rodents were also uncovered during the cleanup.
Newsweek reached out to @projectbelmont for further comment but did not hear back in time for publication.
