A new video captured the moment a deli worker in Brooklyn, New York escaped a molotov cocktail attack inside the deli.

The video, which was posted to Facebook by the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) begins by showing the door of a deli open and a molotov cocktail can be seen flying inside. Shortly after the molotov cocktail is thrown inside the deli, numerous items ignite in flames and smoke can be seen spreading throughout the store.

As the video continues, a deli worker can be seen narrowly escaping the flames and falling to the floor. While on the floor, the worker's foot appears to light on fire but he is able to get out of the deli. Another worker can then be seen jumping out from behind another counter and rushing out of the deli.

A second video released by the FDNY showed surveillance footage from outside the deli and the suspect can be seen throwing the molotov cocktail into the deli. The second video also showed the suspect attempting to throw a second molotov cocktail into the deli but he is stopped by another person standing outside the deli.

According to the FDNY, the incident occurred on October 30 at a deli located on 496 Nostrand Avenue in Brooklyn.

At approximately 7:53 a.m. local time, officials with the FDNY were called to the deli following reports of a store fire and firefighters arrived within three minutes.

"The rapid response allowed Firefighters to quickly bring the incident under control and provide medical treatment for one civilian with non-life-threatening injuries," the FDNY said in a Facebook post.

According to the FDNY, the suspect who was seen throwing the molotov cocktail was identified as 38-year-old Joel Mangal and he was arrested by fire marshals for "the alleged use of improvised incendiary devices, commonly known as 'Molotov Cocktails,' that resulted in damage and destruction of a Brooklyn deli."

The FDNY said that Mangal has been charged with arson, assault, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal mischief. The case has been sent to the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office for further investigation, the FDNY said.

"Fortunately, there was no loss of life here. The investigative work from the Explosives and Arson Task Force comprised of our Fire Marshals, the NYPD, and ATF, led to the timely arrest of this suspect who threatened the safety of our communities by using such a cruel and destructive device," FDNY Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro said in a statement.

Nigro continued, "FDNY will continue to work alongside local, state and federal partners to bring to justice those who use fire as a weapon against New Yorkers."

Newsweek reached out to the FDNY for comment.
