U.S. President Joe Biden was reported to be safe on Sunday night after videos shared on social media showed a vehicle colliding with an SUV that was part of the president's motorcade.
The president, who is seeking a second term, was leaving his campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Deleware, after sharing a meal with his re-election team when a vehicle plowed into a parked SUV that was part of the security detail for Biden's motorcade, according to the White House press pool report.
First Lady Jill Biden was also unharmed in the incident.
The crash happened shortly after 8 p.m., according to the press pool report. Additional details were not immediately available at the time of publication.
Newsweek reached out via email on Sunday to President Biden's representatives for comment.

Josh Wingrove, a journalist for Bloomberg, shared a roughly 20-second video clip on X, formerly Twitter, of the incident.
"A car collided with part of Biden's parked motorcade tonight in Wilmington — it just rammed into an SUV that had closed down a street while Biden attended a campaign event," Wingrove said in the X post. "The circumstances weren't clear; Biden and the First Lady loaded into their vehicle and left."

Journalist Max Lewis shared a video aftermath of the crash, which can be heard roughly nine seconds into the clip.
"An SUV in President Biden's motorcade was hit by a vehicle as he was leaving his campaign headquarters in Delaware tonight," Lewis said in the X post. "Secret service agents surrounded the car with guns drawn as Biden was ushered into his vehicle. You can hear the crash about 9 seconds in."

As the Democratic president was walking from the campaign office to his waiting armored SUV, a silver sedan plowed into a Secret Service vehicle that was being used to close intersections near Biden's motorcade, the Associated Press reported. After hitting the Secret Service SUV, the sedan then tried to continue towards a closed intersection before law enforcement Secret Service personnel surrounded the vehicle with weapons drawn, according to the AP.

Photos and videos shared on social media also show the president's reaction to the crash.
In one clip, Biden pauses near his SUV and looks over toward the commotion, appearing surprised, before being ushered by his security detail into the vehicle, where the first lady was already waiting. The Bidens were driven away from the scene, the AP reported.
