Viewers were left in stitches after watching a TikTok that received more than 10 million views showing a full-grown golden retriever seemingly assert its dominance with a puppy.

The quick video clip between the two, which was shared to the account @mikenhannon, was liked by nearly two million viewers, and it sparked a conversation about the breed with a typically lovable nature.

Known for its playful and affectionate personality, the golden retriever is a popular breed that many people choose to welcome into their family.

According to the American Kennel Club, golden retrievers are affectionate with families and do well around children and other dogs.

"Goldens are outgoing, trustworthy, and eager-to-please family dogs, and relatively easy to train," the organization stated. "They take a joyous and playful approach to life and maintain this puppyish behavior into adulthood."

An intelligent breed, the American Kennel Club also noted that the golden retriever is the type of dog that will need mental stimulation.

The video opens and shows the full-grown dog pausing at the puppy, which is laying down on the floor. The two stare at one another for a moment before the dog takes a few steps closer to the puppy.

Raising its paw, the dog hesitates one more time before placing it on the pup's head and pushing it down to the floor. It holds the puppy there briefly and jumps backward.

Still staring at the puppy, the dog took a few steps around it and pawed at it a few more times before the video ended.

"This was the most golden retriever thing I've ever seen," a TikTok viewer declared.

Others joked about the dominant gesture that the dog made toward the puppy.

"He said know your place," one viewer wrote.

Commented another, "He said bow down to your king."

Some suggested it was the dog's way of trying to get the puppy to play with them.

"He just wanted to play," one wrote

"Teaching how to play," another shared.

"Let me translate: 'what dis? Ohhh i kinda like it! Let's play!" a viewer offered.

One jokingly wondered if the puppy was just "knighted."

Newsweek reached out to @mikenhannon for further comment but did not hear back in time for publication.

These aren't the only golden retrievers that have captured the hearts of viewers.

Newsweek previously reported on another touching video that has been viewed more than four million times on TikTok, showing a golden retriever meeting a litter of puppies that are her nieces and nephews.
