The Walking Dead Season 10, Episode 18 gave AMC fans something they have wanted for a long time—a glimpse into Daryl Dixon's (Norman Reedus) love life.
In the episode, titled "Find Me," TWD shared a look at what happened during the six-year time jump in Season 9. It was revealed, during this time, Daryl had found a woman called Leah (Lynn Collins) living with her dog in a cabin. Despite their first meeting involving Leah aiming a shotgun at him, we learn that the pair developed a romantic connection.
However, this relationship ended after three months when Leah asked him to choose between continuing his search for the body of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and her. He chose the former.
Speaking to CinemaBlend about this moment, Collins explained: "There's a missing piece of information; he doesn't have the whole story as to why she's even giving the ultimatum. For her, she's ready to nest, she's ready to put down roots and, you know, he's ready to fly. So I think the ultimatum comes from her absolute dreams dashed."
In The Walking Dead Season 10, Episode 18, we see him return to her cabin four years later, only to find the dog there but no Leah. Daryl then leaves her the note that gives the episode its title, reading, "I belong with you. Find me."
This has left fans wondering whether she will return in one or more of the following: The remaining episodes of The Walking Dead Season 10, the 11th and final season of TWD or the upcoming Daryl/Carol (Melissa McBride) spin-off, set to come in AMC in 2023.
In a TV Insider interview, Collins was asked about the return of the character and teased, "We're just going to have to keep watching! I think the writers have done an incredible job with those six episodes, so if it does progress, we're in for a treat. And if it doesn't, there are all sorts of other options where this could go."
Reedus hinted to Entertainment Weekly that we may see more of Leah and Daryl in the future. The actor said, "depending on what happens next, you kind of have to play it a certain way or otherwise something else might not work later. So I tiptoed around them as much as possible."
Collins is certainly no stranger to playing recurring roles on television. The 43-year-old Texan played Alicia Kent in eight episodes of the cult series Bosch, starred in seven episodes of true crime drama Manhunt: Unabomber in 2017, and played Dawn Green in six episodes of True Blood in 2008. Her movie credits, meanwhile, include X-Men Origins: Wolverine, 50 First Dates and 13 Going on 30.
