A dog's reaction to meeting a giant velociraptor in a Washington state corn maze has been widely praised online.
Some dogs are known for having a curious streak and this particular one was more on guard when faced with something new.
Kevin Nelson decided to take his dog, Guffman, to the Biringer Pumpkin Farm in Arlington, Washington state, after he learned there would be a "velociraptor" there.

He told Newsweek: "We brought Guffman to Biringer yesterday because they said the raptor would be there. So, I went up and got our picture taken with the raptor and he did not care in the slightest.
"He was more interested in all the people and the pumpkins around him. We then went to the corn maze, because he loves corn mazes. As we were in the maze, I could see that the dinosaur was also coming in.
"I figured he'd have more appreciation seeing it in the 'wild,' so I navigated to where it was. I think his reaction is actually one of excitement because [in his mind] what is that?"
A video of the encounter was shared on Reddit's Aww page, a group where cute videos and photos are shared, and showed Guffman's reaction to seeing the velociraptor.
While walking through the corn maze, Guffman noticed the head of a large velociraptor poking out. As the velociraptor, in reality a person wearing a large dinosaur costume, approached Guffman he switched from being curious to being on guard.
But the velociraptor soon took a different path and vanished into the corn maze while Guffman watched on.
Nelson explained that Guffman enjoys playing and would likely have tried to make a new friend of the velociraptor if given the chance.
He continued to tell Newsweek: "He's a very confident dog who loves to play. My girlfriend, who wasn't able to come along, said if I had told him to 'go play,' he probably would have walked up to the dinosaur and play bowed to get him to play. So, this was totally in character."
According to a 2023 American Pet Products Association (APPA) survey, dogs are the most popular pets in the U.S.
The APPA said that an estimated 65.1 million households own at least one dog and that cats - the second most popular pet - are found in 46.5 million homes across the country.
Since being uploaded to Reddit on Monday, October 9, the post has attracted some 17,000 upvotes and an estimated 445 comments.
The overwhelming majority of people who commented on the post found the clip amusing and shared their thoughts on what their dogs would do in a similar situation.
Reddit user JemJemIsHerName said: "Smart dog. They might save your life one day when Jurassic Park happens."
ZoyaZhivago added: "My huskies wouldn't even notice. Their job is to move forward, and completely ignore everyone and everything around them - including me. I'd be dead for hours before they'd go 'Hey, wait. Didn't we have that human with us?'"
OneSensiblePerson commented: "Your dog is 100 percent right and has better survival instincts than you do. Next time you encounter a velociraptor, listen to him."
While LovePeaceHope-Ish posted: "My badass little Chihuahua would rapid-fire bark at it until it ran away in abject terror. Cause [it's a] Chihuahua."
