Joe Rogan may seem unmistakable, but for one former ESPN host, she accidentally confused UFC President Dana White with the controversial podcaster — twice.
Sage Steele accidentally mixed up White for Rogan, a UFC commentator in his own right, in a recent interview that has since gone viral. While sitting down with White, she requested that he "join" her in wearing a matching pair of socks she wears during all of her interviews. When White obliged, Steele simply replied, "Thank you, Joe."
However, it was later on in the sit-down did White not only notice Steele's error — but proceeded to call her out on it repeatedly.

"What's Joe Rogan's dream?" Steele asked White, which he repeated in surprise.
"Joe Rogan. Dana White," she corrected herself, shaking her head and laughing before admitting her mistake. "What's Dana White's dream?"
"Did you just — did you just think that was Joe Rogan?" White said incredulously.
"I did. I totally did," Steele confessed, as White laughed out loud in surprise.
"She just called me f*****g Joe Rogan. You thought I was f****** Joe Rogan?!" he asked. "I was bald before Joe Rogan was ever bald. I just did a two-hour f****** podcast, I just flew here from Vegas, and she thought she was interviewing Joe Rogan," he cracked.
"Jesus. Jesus," Steele replied, her head in her hands.

To be fair, Steele is far from the only person who has confused the two UFC bigwigs, who occasionally get mixed up for the other by fans, who cite their baldness, similar facial features and physique as the reasons for their confusion.
As Newsweek reported in May 2023, people on X (formerly known as Twitter) went wild when they discovered White and Rogan were actually two different people.
One user was "baffled I've not processed it before," joking that "bald celebrities are so confusing which ones Dana White and which ones Joe Rogan?"

Steele's Wednesday, March 27 interview with White brought even more confused UFC followers out of the woodwork.
"Wait, so, Joe Rogan and Dana White aren't the same person??" one person tweeted. Another user went further to respond: "Who can actually say Dana White and Joe Rogan aren't the same person?"
As for Rogan and White, the two have not only posed for photos together and interacted over the years, they have both been supportive of one another amid various controversies, including Rogan's bold claims on his enormously far-reaching podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience.
Correction 3/28/2024, 3:50 p.m. ET: This article was updated to correct the date of Steele's interview with White.
