A social media video of a Labrador tasting sparkling water for the first time has delighted millions of viewers across the internet, many of whom have been left in hysterics the clip.

The viral video, which has been viewed more than 19.1 million times since it was shared to Instagram on October 27, captured Poppy the Labrador puppy's shock at the bubbly drink's texture.

Poppy's owner, Michigan-based Realtor Jaclyn Littrup, isn't at all surprised by the video's popularity. She describes Poppy as "constantly happy" with a "goofy and silly personality" that makes for hilarious social media content.

Poppy the black Labrador went viral after she tried sparkling water on Instagram. Her owner told Newsweek about the curious rescue puppy. @TheBlackLabrador_Poppy

"Poppy is only 7 months old. My husband Gerrit and I met her on the day before we left for a long trip to Europe, and we picked her up the day after we got home," Littrup told Newsweek.

"We have been so in love with her since the day we met her. She is the happiest dog we've ever seen. She's constantly wagging her entire body and tail around literally from the second she wakes up until bedtime. She loves all humans and dogs alike, and on her walks gets very excited when she sees either."

'She Is a Very Hungry Girl'

"My husband is drinking sparkling water in the Instagram video that's gone viral. Poppy is very curious, so of course she would be interested in it. She was trying to smell it because she's always interested in what we are having," Littrup added.

She shared that her husband eventually succumbed to Poppy's begging and decided to give her a small amount in a bottle cap. The black Lab's owner recalls her adorable reaction: "Well, she had a lick and she is definitely not a fan of sparkling water."

While the pup may not be a fan of bubbly drinks, she is certainly a lover of cuddles and affection. Her proud owner says Poppy makes everyone laugh. However, her persistent begging can be a problem, as evidenced in the Instagram video.

"She is a very hungry girl. She goes absolutely nuts when it's meal time. Anytime we have snacks, open the fridge or start cooking she is immediately next to us waiting to see if she can have a bite. Poppy wants to try everything we have. We have to tell her no from time to time," the Realtor said.
