A social media video that chronicles how a rescue dog slowly befriended a stray kitten, before becoming best friends with her, has warmed hearts across the internet.
The viral video, which has been viewed more than 488,000 times since it was first shared to TikTok on November 20, introduced TikTokers to Bella the rescue dog and her sweet relationship with a stray kitten named Lulu.
"Bella is a pit bull mix and she was adopted in 2017 from the Wisconsin Humane Society," Bella and Lulu's owner, Hannah Wenzel, told Newsweek.
"She was adopted when she was 1.5-years-old and her story was that she was a stray. They weren't sure how she was with other animals because they had no background knowledge on her," she added.
Bella was an only child until two months ago, when Wenzel bought stray cat Lulu back home with her. She'd spotted the kitten eating a chicken wing outside of a bar. Lulu's rescuer told Newsweek that the kitten looked frail and in desperate need of care. Wenzel felt compelled to bring her home and swiftly named her Delulu, or Lulu for short.

"I took her home with me with plans to find her a permanent home or rescue center that would adopt her, as I wasn't sure how Bella would feel about a sudden cat sibling," she explained.
Lulu had no microchip and as a result couldn't be traced back to an owner or home. Wenzel took pity on the kitten and decided to rehome her for good, an addition to which Bella eventually warmed.
"I got her first round of shots at the vet and started slowly introducing her to Bella. Within a week they were cuddling and now best friends," Wenzel said.
The viral video shows the pair snuggling up to one another after a frosty first introduction.
