Where Is the Next Super Bowl? Looking at the Big Game's Future Locations

🎙️ Voice is AI-generated. Inconsistencies may occur.

After another whirlwind of a football season, we've reached the Super Bowl. The Big Game's status speaks for itself; it transcends the world of sports and stands tall as a genuine pop-cultural touchstone.

But that high profile also raises some questions. Take, for example, location. The Super Bowl, unlike other championship games, takes place at a neutral site. That means that each season's title bout simply needs to be known; you can't determine the location based on the teams involved.

And while we don't want to wish away this year's game away, it also raises the question: Where will the upcoming Super Bowls be?

Let's break it down.

Super Bowl LVIII Is a Vegas Debut

Before getting into the future, let's briefly touch on this year's location. While this is the 58th edition of the big game, it's the first to ever take place in Las Vegas.

That may sound jarring—the city is a major tourist destination with a warm climate, and it seems like a natural place to host an over-the-top event—it does make sense. Pro sports are a relatively new addition to the Vegas landscape, as most leagues traditionally shied away from Sin City.

The Raiders, of course, played in California until 2020 before moving east to Nevada. Combine that team (with a new stadium) and the increased acceptance of sports betting, and Super Bowl LVIII came to town.

Where Are the Upcoming Super Bowls?

Once this year's Big Game comes to a conclusion in Las Vegas, we'll be onto the 2024 NFL season. And with that turning of the calendar page, it will be time for a new Super Bowl location.

In 2025, the NFL's top teams will travel to the Caesars Superdome, home of the New Orleans Saints. After that, things will head west to California in 2026. Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara will host that year's Super Bowl (LX), although it remains to be seen if the 49ers will still be chasing championships by then.

Things won't have to move far for the 2027 Super Bowl, which will take place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. That stadium, of course, is home to both the Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers. It's also worth noting that Super Bowl LXI will kick off on February 14, which could affect some Valentine's Day plans.

It goes without saying, though, that location is only one piece of the puzzle. We'll need to see which teams make it to the big game, and how the league's bigger picture evolves. Will a team like the Chiefs, for example, be able to keep the ball rolling as their salary cap landscape shifts? Is there a quarterback lurking in this year's draft who will catapult his team to the next level? Who will suffer an unfortunate injury and send their team sliding down the standings?

All of those questions will be answered in due course. As we let things play out, though, we'll at least know where every team in the league will be hoping to celebrate a crowning glory.
