White House Christmas Decorations Spark Fresh Melania Trump Mockery

Social media users invoked former first lady Melania Trump's famous Christmas decorations on Monday after seeing the Bidens' holiday White House display.

First lady Jill Biden shared a photo on X, formerly Twitter on Monday showing off the decorations for the 2023 holiday season, writing: "For this year's holidays at the White House, our theme is inspired by how children experience this festive season: completely present in the beauty and bounty around them, their senses alight, with hearts open to the 'Magic, Wonder, and Joy' of the season."

The photo showed a room at the White House with a humongous Christmas tree at its center, decorated with glittering lights and ornaments with toys at the bottom. Other photos included one of a hallway lined with trees and garlands.

It sparked X users to mock Trump's decor during her time in the White House, which included "blood red" trees that were once described as "straight out of The Shining" and compared to the characters from The Handmaid's Tale.

"What a difference a few years makes in the White House. Jill Biden's Christmas decorations vs. Melania Frump's," X user @ThomB01 wrote while sharing a side-by-side comparison of the decor.

X user @LePapillonBlu2 shared a photo of Melania Trump's Christmas decorations in 2020 and wrote, "Retweet if you're grateful that Melania Trump can't ruin the White House Christmas decorations with her distasteful abominations."

Similarly, X user @gggirl924 posted, "Well, we're back to someone who actually has taste decorating the White House once again. No more gloom and doom from Melania."

X user This Girl said, "Y'all can't tell me this isn't worlds better than the previous administration. Thank you, @FLOTUS."

On the other hand, X user @TKPOE13 praised Melania Trump's decorations and said, "Absolutely no comparison to beautiful FLOTUS Melania's Christmas display. This looks like a dollar store discount bin. Go away, don't go away mad, just go away."

Newsweek reached out to a spokesperson for Trump's campaign via email for comment from Melania Trump.

Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, a former friend and aide to Melania Trump, published a book in 2020 titled Melania and Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship With the First Lady, in which she included a recording of the former first lady speaking about her Christmas decorations that year.

"Give me a f****** break. I'm working like a—my a** off at Christmas stuff that, you know, who gives a f*** about Christmas stuff and decorations?" Melania Trump said in the recording. "But I need to do it, right? Correct?"
