Is Whitney Way Thore Still Dating Her French Boyfriend?

Last season on My Big Fat Fabulous Life, viewers saw star Whitney Way Thore embark on a new romance with a man from Paris whom she had met online.

The TLC series follows Thore's life as the dancer navigates work, family and romance, as well as her friendships with Tal Fish and Heather Sykes, who also appear on the show.

In Season 9, Thore made several references to her new love interest, but he did not appear on the series and was known only as "the Frenchman." But as the new season of My Big Fat Fabulous Life begins this week, fans are curious to know if they are still together and if he'll appear in any of the new episodes.

Here's what we know about Thore and the status of her relationship.

Is Thore Still Dating Her French Boyfriend?

In a new clip from the upcoming season, Thore confirms she is still dating the Frenchman.

In the clip, taken from an upcoming episode of My Big Fat Fabulous Life, Thore is seen discussing her love life with ex-boyfriend Lennie Alehat. It was recently confirmed that Alehat will appear in the new season, as Thore has hired him to assist her in filming her online fitness videos.

Thore and Alehat discuss working together as exes during the clip. At one point, Thore says: "I just really want to clear up, though, our relationship is not anything weird. It's not anything inappropriate." She then adds: "Luckily, my boyfriend is very not jealous and very not worried about you," thus confirming that she is still in the relationship.

Newsweek contacted a representative for Thore for comment.

The Season 10 trailer, released by TLC, had previously confirmed that Thore and Alehat would be working together. The footage shows Thore insisting that they will be keeping their relationship strictly professional, despite her friends' doubts about the decision.

"Some people might think that hanging onto an ex is a slippery slope. I might fall on my ass, but I won't fall for Lennie," she says.

Elsewhere in the My Big Fat Fabulous Life trailer, Thore is seen dealing with the aftermath of her mother Babs' stroke.

The stroke was confirmed earlier this year, but it seems as though Babs' health may have been further complicated by COVID-19. The official synopsis for Season 10's first episode says: "After Babs suffers a stroke, the family discovers that Babs, Glenn and Hunter have COVID-19; without her family to lean on, Whitney's friends rally together as she attempts to stay strong through a trying time."

The following episode's synopsis is as follows: "After suffering a stroke, COVID-19 and an infection, the Thores are amazed to see Babs make a miraculous recovery; everyone anxiously hopes it will be enough to get her approved for rehabilitation; Whitney is not prepared to give up without a fight."

When Does 'My Big Fat Fabulous Life' Season 10 Start?

The show's 10th season begins Tuesday on TLC.

The episodes will air at 10 p.m. ET and will also be available to stream on Discovery+ the same day.
