The Masked Singer season 8 is well underway on ABC, with famous faces taking to the stage in disguise in a variety of costumes, showcasing their singing talents.

On the most recent edition of the show, two famous faces were unmasked after failing to make it through to the next round, leaving audiences completely stunned at their surprising vocals.

The mysterious Fortune Teller was one of the characters to fall at the episode 3 hurdle, but who was under the mask?

Newsweek has everything you need to know.

Who Is Fortune Teller on 'The Masked Singer?'

American businessman and entrepreneur Daymond John, 53, was revealed to be the Fortune Teller on The Masked Singer.

John is best known for founding and serving as the CEO of hip-hop apparel company FUBU and for appearing as an investor in the ABC reality series Shark Tank. He performed a rendition of "Movin' on Up" from the CBS sitcom The Jeffersons to celebrate TV Theme Night.

He was up against Harp in the sing-off and unfortunately, his performance of the Full House theme song was not enough to carry him through to the next round.

John, who was born in Brooklyn but was raised in Queens, New York City, founded FUBU in the early 1990s. Today, it has earned more than $6 billion in global sales and is featured at the Smithsonian's National Museum of African-American History and Culture.

He joined ABC's Shark Tank in 2009, where he serves as an investor to aspiring entrepreneurs. John is also the CEO and founder of The Shark Group, a brand management and consulting firm based in New York.

John has also released five books: Display of Power, The Brand Within, The Power of Broke, Rise and Grind, and Powershift.

Some of his clues along the way were:

  • He grew up in Queens
  • Always dreamed of being in the music business
  • He has appeared in music videos
  • Credits Keeping Up With the Kardashians for helping his career

Panelist Ken Jeong, 53, was the only judge to guess correctly that it was John under the mask.

Speaking to host Nick Cannon, 41, after being unmasked, John said: "It is such an honor to be here.

"I used to go to the back office of FUBU and beg for clothes. I had FUBU everything!"

Cannon had a hunch it was John under the mask the entire time, admitting his suspicions to panelist Jenny McCarthy, 49.

Cannon said: "At first I didn't, and then when I actually got to see him walk, I was like, 'Oh I know who that is.' But when he was in there, I had no idea. The performance threw me off and everything."

Speaking to Hollywood Life after his elimination, John shared why he wanted to get involved with The Masked Singer in the first place.

He said: "I think that after two years of being cooped up and a lot of things going on in the world, I think this is just fun in general.

"Also, being an entrepreneur, it's always about stepping outside your comfort zone, really testing yourself, and just putting yourself out there and being vulnerable.

John said: "A lot of people think that the mentality of entrepreneurs is to be this hard person, just like a bull running around when it's the exact opposite. It's about being vulnerable, failing, trying, and putting yourself out there."

Overall, Fortune Teller was the seventh act to be eliminated from season 8 of The Masked Singer.

The celebrities to be revealed so far are:

  • William Shatner as Knight
  • Eric Idle as Hedgehog
  • Chris Kirkpatrick as Hummingbird
  • Jeff Dunham as Pi-Rat
  • Montell Jordan as Panther
  • The Brady Bunch Brothers as Mummies

Newsweek has contacted John for comment.

Episodes of The Masked Singer season 8 air Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
