Who's Going to Win the Super Bowl? What Odds Say Midway Through NFL Season

Super Bowl LVIII is less than 100 days away as the 2023 NFL season reaches its midway point.

The Kansas City Chiefs (7-2) and Philadelphia Eagles (8-1) are atop their respective conferences heading into Week 10. And, according to oddsmakers, a rematch of last year's big game could be in store come February's Super Bowl Sunday. Kansas City, the defending Super Bowl champions, is currently favored to win again, according to most sportsbooks. But Philadelphia is close behind, as are the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens.

With half of the regular season still to be played, here's a look at the teams Vegas believes have the best (and worst) odds of hoisting the Lombardi Trophy.

Teams With Best Super Bowl Odds

BetMGM, FanDuel and DraftKings all give the Chiefs the best odds to win the Super Bowl, as of Tuesday afternoon. The first two set Kansas City's odds of repeating at +475, while the DraftKings sportsbook is set at +490.

The Eagles, 49ers and Ravens are the other consensus top teams, according to Vegas. Philadelphia has the second-best Super Bowl odds at all three sportsbooks, followed by San Francisco and Baltimore, respectively, in third and fourth place. Philly's odds from these three oddsmakers range from +500 to 550. All three have the 49ers at +600, while the Ravens have a range from +850 to 950.

Vegas' odds are pretty in line with the current playoff picture.

The Chiefs and Ravens (7-2) are leading their respective divisions and sit in the top two seeds in the AFC. The Jacksonville Jaguars (6-2) and Miami Dolphins (6-3) are the conference's other division leaders, while three teams from the AFC North—the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals—all sit at 5-3 and in a Wild Card spot.

The Eagles head into their bye week comfortably atop the NFC. The NFC North–leading Detroit Lions (6-2) are the No. 2 seed in the conference, with the 49ers and New Orleans Saints (5-4) in the 3 and 4 seeds. The Seattle Seahawks (5-3), Dallas Cowboys (5-3) and Minnesota Vikings (5-4) hold the NFC Wild Card spots.

Biggest Risers, Fallers From Preseason

The Houston Texans have been the most surprising team in the league this season, at least to the oddsmakers. Houston, led by Offensive Rookie of the Year favorite C.J. Stroud, is 4-4 after finishing last season 3-13. Ahead of Week 1, the Texans' Super Bowl odds were the second worst in the league for most sportsbooks, often at +20,000.

But as of Tuesday, Houston's odds range from +12000 to +15000, depending on which of the three mentioned sportsbooks is used. Still a long-shot title contender? Sure. But no other team in the league has risen as far up the leaderboard this season.

On the other end of things, the Chicago Bears (2-7), New York Giants (2-7) and New York Jets (4-4) are among the teams that have failed to live up to their preseason hype. The Bears and Giants both have Super Bowl odds as unlikely as +100000, despite entering the season closer to +5000. And the Jets were among the title favorites once quarterback Aaron Rodgers arrived in town, although his Achilles injury quickly changed that.

Gang Green entered Week 1 with Super Bowl odds in the +1600 range, but they now sit between +6600 and +14000, depending on which of the mentioned sportsbooks you check. And that's with a potential Rodgers comeback still a possibility.
