Sundays are going to feel a whole lot different for the foreseeable future after Euphoria Season 2 came to an end on Sunday, February 27. The good news is the finale set up the show perfectly for a third season but also left many questions unanswered much to the frustration of fans. So will there be a Euphoria Season 3? Newsweek has everything you need to know, including what plot points need to be addressed.
Will There Be a 'Euphoria' Season 3?
Yes, the good news is Euphoria Season 3 is already on the cards.
The show's renewal was announced midway through Season 2, with HBO announcing the good news in February.
Unfortunately, there will be a bit of wait until Euphoria Season 3 lands on screens. At the moment, the new season is not expected to drop until 2023 or 2024 at the earliest, based on the show's previous release patterns.
Season 1 premiered in June 2019 and Season 2 did not arrive until January 2022, so fans should not be too surprised by the long wait.
In between Seasons 1 and 2, two special episodes were released to keep fans in suspense. One was about Rue (played by Zendaya) and the other about Jules (Hunter Schafer) and picked up from the cliffhanger ending of Season 1. Here's hoping creator Sam Levinson has a similar idea for the long wait between Seasons 2 and 3.
In the meantime, the first two seasons of Euphoria are streaming on HBO Max now.
Seven Questions That Need to be Answered in Euphoria Season 3.
1. What About Rue's $10K Debt to Laurie?
At the beginning of Euphoria Season 2 in order to fuel her drug addiction, Rue offered to work for a local drug lord, Laurie (Martha Kelly)
In the end, she was tasked with selling $10,000 worth of drugs but instead of doing that, she took the majority of the drugs for herself.
Laurie, who is suspected of also arranging human trafficking, effectively kidnapped Rue, no doubt with the intention of selling her in some form, to make back the money.
Thankfully, Rue was able to escape from Laurie's home but what about the $10,000 debt she is in? Knowing Laurie, she is not going to let that slide anytime soon.
One thing is for sure, Rue's past has picked the worst time to catch up with her if Laurie does return for Season 3 as at the end of Season 2, Rue seemed in a very good place.

2. Is Ashtray 100 Percent Dead?
Realizing Custer (Tyler Chase) has betrayed Fez (Angus Cloud), Ashtray (Javon Walton) stabbed him in the neck as he sat on their living room couch. Ashtray did not stop there, instead of taking Fez's instructions to run, knowing the police were on their way, Ashtray decided to arm himself with various weapons and lock himself in the bathroom.
As expected, armed police stormed Fez's home and a shootout ensued between Ashtray who was hiding behind the bathroom door in the bath, and the police. In the gunfire, Fez was wounded by one of Ashtray's bullets and he was forced to lie on the floor, where he begged Ashtray to stop.
But Ashtray didn't stop and continued to fire, managing to take out one officer.
However, sadly it is looking very likely that Ashtray is dead after the gun battle but that has not stopped fans from speculating about his fate.
After all, audiences never actually saw Ashtray get shot, it was only implied when a red target was aimed at his head and a small gunshot was heard.

3. Did Nate Hand Over the USB Drive?
Yes, Nate (Jacob Elordi) really did call the cops on his father Cal (Eric Dane) but what evidence exactly do they have against him?
Nate confronted his father, gun in hand and armed with a USB stick which contained "everything" Cal had ever done. The contents most likely related to the explicit videos Cal took of his sexual encounters, without the other person's consent, including the tape with an underage Jules.
Nate also told his father he saw videos of his father having sex with "hookers" when he was just 11 years old and it had haunted him ever since.
Moments before the police arrived, Nate showed his father the USB stick but he was not actually seen handing anything over to the police.
Presumably, the police have done a full search of Cal's home and electronic devices but there is no doubt whatever is on the USB stick is particularly damaging. Here's hoping Nate did hand over the USB drive and perhaps Cal will be behind bars in Season 3.
4. Will Rue Find Out About Elliot and Jules?
Rue had her fair share of apologies to do by the Season 2 finale of Euphoria but she also had some forgiveness to dish out as well.
First on her list of forgiveness was Elliot (Dominic Fike), who had joined forces with Jules (Hunter Schafer) and told Rue's mother she was using drugs again.
"I think you may have accidentally saved my life," Rue admitted to Elliot who then proceeded to play her a song she wrote.
All looked well between the pair and Elliot even asked if they could ever be friends again... but will Rue find out he and Jules hooked up when she and Jules were still together?
5. Will Rue and Jules Get Back Together?
Rue eventually had to come face to face with Jules after avoiding her for so long. After Lexi's play ended, Jules approached Rue to tell her she loved her and missed her but instead of replying, Rue sat in silence before turning around, kissing Jules on the forehead, and walking out of the theater.
As Rue walked the corridors of her school, she reflected on her relationship with Jules and it sounded like they were over, for good.
Rue narrated: "Jules was my first love and I like to remember it that way. I don't know if that's actually true though, I think I was high for too much of it, and I know it wasn't easy for her. I hope she forgives me."
Unfortunately, fans of "Rules" will be waiting a while to find out what happened between them and if they ever tried to make things work.

6. Does Lexi Know About Fez?
Obviously, Fez did not make it to Lexi's (Maude Apatow) play in the end, he was a little preoccupied with Custer's murder and the inevitable police raid on his home.
During the police raid, Fez was shot accidentally by Ashtray and was trapped on the ground as shots rang out above him. Fans were heartbroken to see he was still holding the card he had written for Lexi.
Meanwhile, Lexi was introducing the second act of her play and dedicating it to Fez, despite his seat remaining empty in the audience.
As far as Lexi is aware, Fez has not turned up but by the looks of it, she has absolutely no idea why—nobody does. How will Lexi react when she knows Fez is potentially facing jail time?

7. What Is Going On With Samantha and Maddy?
Minka Kelly was missing from the Euphoria finale as the mysterious Samantha, the woman Maddy (Alexa Demie) babysits for.
Throughout the season, she has popped in and out, forming a friendship with Maddy. In the penultimate episode, she sent Maddy the purple dress the latter helped her out of in the first episode, but audiences have absolutely no idea why. Hopefully, their relationship will be explored in Season 3.
Euphoria Seasons 1 and 2 are streaming on HBO Max now.
