Will There Be A Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin Season 2?

At the moment, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin has not been given the green light for Season 2 by HBO Max.

The good news is, that it is very early for the show's future to be announced, considering the final 10 episodes only dropped on the streaming platform on Thursday, August 18. A renewal will depend on many things, including the decision of showrunners Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Linsday Calhoon-Bring as well as the availability of the actors and the all-important ratings.

On the other hand, there is some concern regarding the fate of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin due to the number of ongoing cancelations at HBO Max.

The good news is the fans and the show's creators definitely want more of Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin.

Speaking to Collider, co-creator Lindsay Calhoon-Bring shared there have some "ideas for moving forward" with the show's plot.

"There are some things in Season 1 that we strangely stuck to, from the beginning, from the pitch, like some of our mysteries," she said. "And then, there are some things that certainly evolved over the course of the season and changed. We do have ideas for moving forward, and we have some pretty fun and exciting story ideas and places for the characters to go after this."

Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin follows a group of new "liars", Imogen (played by Bailee Madison), Tabby (Chandler Kinney), Faran (Zaria), Mouse (Malia Pyles), and Noa (Maia Reficco) who just like the original series, the group of friends are tormented by the mysterious "A".

However, this time around, "A" is punishing them for the sins of their mothers 20+ years ago as well as their own mistakes.

At the end of Season 1, A's true identity still was not revealed and he/she killed Sheriff Beasley (Eric Johnson) and Chip (Carson Rowland), proving the liar's journey with A was not over.

In happier news, the first link to the original series was also unveiled in the finale. Imogen's daughter was adopted by Ari Montgomery (Lucy Hale) and Ezra Fitz (Ian Harding), two characters from the original Pretty Little Liars series.

With such a jaw-dropping ending, it looks like there are a whole host of routes Season 2 could go down, including unveiling A's true identity.

One thing is for sure, fans definitely want to see more.

One Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin fan tweeted: "#PLLOriginalSin definitely deserves a season 2 after a finale this excellent. not only did the plot have me gagging but these actresses proved why they're here to stay. especially bailee for giving us a main character to root for."

A second fan said: "Just finished #PLLOriginalSin ... that finale was insane now where is the season 2 announcement @hbomax"

A third fan added: "This show is genuinely well written, directed, and is one of the best teen dramas we've had in years. i need a season 2 i'm already attached to all the liars. #PLLOSFinale #PLLOriginalSin."

Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin is streaming on HBO Max now.
