A viral TikTok has sent people into an uproar after a woman admitted to having her boyfriend FaceTime with her during his entire 12-hour shift. The video has been viewed 4.8 million times, and it's sparking quite a conversation.

In the video posted by @flackoandnela, the song Insane by Summer Walker played in the background. It started with a woman's boyfriend wearing a mask and gloves while he packed an item in a package at Amazon. He put the box together and taped it up while putting the item inside as well.

During the short clip, a voice said the words that read on the screen: "My boyfriend needs to FaceTime me his whole 12-hour shift. Not because I don't trust him, but because I don't trust females." In the video, in the upper right corner the girlfriend could be seen washing dishes on the screen on the opposite end of the call.

"When partners have their own set of interests, friends, and time for self, that makes them happier and less bored," Dr. Terri Orbuch, who is a psychologist, author, and professor at the University of Michigan at the Institute for Social Research, explained to The Sydney Morning Herald. "Time alone also gives partners time to process their thoughts, pursue hobbies and relax without responsibilities to others."

The video yielded over 766,000 likes and 24,000 wide-ranging comments, some of which labeled the situation "toxic" while others took a more comedic approach.

"I couldn't even," one TikTok user wrote. "If my man can't stay faithful or shut women down, then he ain't worth keeping around. ijs."

A TikToker mentioned trust, which is an important part of any relationship. "So you don't trust him," the viewer stated.

Another viewer mentioned that the woman needs to, "Give him space or he will get tired of it."

One viewer's sympathy was with the boyfriend's phone, saying they "kinda feel bad for his battery."

"If you're insecure, just say that," another commenter bluntly stated.

One straight-up comment told the woman she has a "problem." "You can't leave your partner alone to the point where you have to do this?" they said.

One user noted that the girlfriend might be "putting his job at risk."

Others had harsh comments such as, "This isn't normal," and "Girl he deserves better."

However, one viewer seemed to agree with the woman. "Nah this necessary, he works at Amazon," they said.
