Cat owners should always expect the unexpected as felines are much smarter than we may think.
Fern, the Manx cat, recently outwitted his owner Cait, who attempted to put an end to his mischievous behavior.
The footage shows Fern climbing onto a bookshelf and knocking over the vase, as the on-screen text explains: "Whenever Fern is feeling bratty, he knocks this vase over. I thought I found a solution." The camera then flips to a pot of museum wax which is said to be perfect for mounting breakable objects to shelves.
However the temporary glue seemingly didn't do the trick as Fern simply used his mouth to pick the vase up with his teeth and drop it on the floor.

According to a 2021 study conducted by the University of Helsinki, cats have seven distinct personality and behavior traits.
Professor Hannes Lohi's research group studied the behaviors of over 4,300 different cats from 26 different breeds and discovered the following traits that cats exhibit on a regular basis.
- Activity/playfulness
- Fearfulness
- Aggression towards humans
- Sociability towards humans
- Sociability towards cats
- Litterbox issues (relieving themselves in inappropriate places, precision in terms of litterbox cleanliness and substrate material)
- Excessive grooming
"While the number of traits identified in prior research varies, activity/playfulness, fearfulness and aggression are the ones from among the traits identified in our study which occur the most often in prior studies. Litterbox issues and excessive grooming are not personality traits as such, but they can indicate something about the cat's sensitivity to stress," said doctoral researcher Salla Mikkola from the University of Helsinki and the Folkhälsan Research Center.
These findings certainly ring true for Fern who is showing his playful and mischievous side in the viral video. It turns out he isn't the only cat who has gone viral after outmaneuvering its owner. Newsweek has previously shared an article about a tiny kitten who managed to do the same to his owner.

So far, the comical clip has received more than 900 comments.
One comment with over 52,000 likes said: "I'm actually crying THAT WAS SO INTENTIONAL."
Another user asked: "what bills he paying to act like that [?]"
Cait responded to one comment suggesting she move the vase, she said: "honestly that's what I should do but I don't want him to win."
