A woman, 25, took to Reddit to share that a neighbor told her she had recently "been incredibly inappropriate" after she was spotted wearing a sports bra through the window of her own home.

Redditor u/nobrasonmain shared the awkward conversation on the subreddit "Am I the A*****e" in a post that has been voted on over 10,000 times and received almost 1,000 comments.

She explains that she likes to start her mornings by working out in her home gym. After, she removes her top, leaving on her sports bra, and continues on to the bathroom. She said over the weekend she made herself some food before jumping into the shower.

"I'm still in my sports bra and I still have my shorts/pants on while doing this and I personally don't see anything wrong with it," she writes.

Though the Redditor was certainly not nude, in some states it would be illegal to walk around your home sans clothing if it was visible to others.

According to a 2015 article from Nola.com (updated in 2019), Louisiana's obscenity laws state that it's illegal to expose one's genitals "in any public place or place open to the public view." Police have even arrested people in for standing naked inside their home.

In New York on the other hand no such laws exist. The New York Timesreported in 2018 that unless someone was maybe intentionally flashing a neighbor for a long period of time, "[n]udity is, for better or worse, something that pretty much has to be tolerated when you live in a city as densely populated as New York," Eric D. Sherman, a real estate lawyer and a partner at the Manhattan law firm Pryor Cashman, told the Times.

Commenters backed the Redditor saying her behavior was not to blame but rather it was her neighbor who was at fault.

"NTA. Tell him he's making you uncomfortable by being a pervert and peeking in your windows. Bonus points if you do it in front of his wife," one person wrote.

"OP is in HER OWN HOME, she could be completely naked and this creep would still be TA," said another.

The Redditor continues that her neighbor is in his 50s and that her window faces his backyard. When he first approached her, she said she had no idea what he was talking about.

"He ended up calling me an [exhibitionist] and that this wasn't something that he or his family wants to see," she wrote. "I didn't like being called that and so I told him I'll keep what he said in mind but that I'll [sic] whatever I want while I'm in my house and it's not like I'm walking around naked by the windows."

"NTA. It's your house and you can do whatever you want," another commenter added. "You weren't even completely topless so idk why that bothers him so much. Dude is obviously a creep."
