An avocado is a delicious and healthy snack, but if you want to save some of it for later you could be disappointed.
Why? Because these creamy green fruits seem to go brown in the blink of an eye.
However, one woman on Instagram may have the solution to this age-old problem.
But what does this entail? Well, influencer Carolina McCauley shared a video, which can be viewed here, of her three go-to hacks to make sure that the fruit stays fresher for longer.
In the clip, which has gone viral with more than 531,000 views, the mom-of-two begins by showcasing the first method. That sees her preserving half an avocado by putting it in a Tupperware container with some onions.
The onions contain sulfur, which serves to slow down the oxidation process and stops the fruit from going brown.
Next McCauley, who lives in Perth, Australia, reveals that you can also "add lemon juice and salt to prevent browning."
Additionally, for leftover guacamole McCauley then advises people to "leave the stone in with smashed avocado to help it stay fresh."
According to Livscience.com this method only partially works, which is surely better than nothing.
The website explained: "The pits are really effective at preventing browning only on the part of the guacamole's surface they touch.
"The pit protects the guac simply because it shields a portion of the dip's surface from exposure to air."
The Australian mother captioned her informative video, writing: "3 Avocado Hacks you should know #kitchenhacks #cookinghacks #hacks #homehackswithcarolina #homehacks."
Her useful hacks have gained lots of attention online, having attracted nearly 10,000 likes. Many people have also headed to the comments section to share their praise for the tips.
One Instagram user, Super.retro.land, wrote: "Love these ideas [light-bulb emoji]."
Another person, Bridgeoverwaters_, added: "I learned the lemon trick awhile ago with apples. They last so much longer."
Cherrycokeclasc revealed: "I tried the "stone" trick and it definitely keep guac from browning so fast."

Cmareejay asked: "Whose avocados last long enough to have as leftovers?!? I devour what I buy bc they're more temperamental than a woman during her cycle just sayin'....you buy em, you eat em, quick fast and in a hurry!"
Recently another hack also went viral online, showing how to peel potatoes without using a peeler. What do you need? Just some ice, a stove and your hands!
