We have all received gifts we don't like, put on a brave face, and pretended to love it as our eyes dart about for the receipt.
However, it's unlikely that many people have been given a Christmas present quite as shocking as the one in a recent viral video.
In the clip, shared to a TikTok by a woman called Abigail Parises, we can see the hilarious moment she unveils a blanket that features a photograph of her dead dog—and it has attracted more than 13.1 million views.
The video begins with Parises walking into the room holding the gift, as she announces: "So traumatizing, the first Christmas present I open, and it's of my dead dog."
She then turns the blanket around to show the woman, who has grey hair and glasses, opposite her, and the person holding the phone.
Perplexed the woman responds: "Well, that's just remembrance of him."
Parises then goes on to clarify: "No, he's literally dead in the photo!"
The camera then zooms in on the present, which is covered in photos of Parises and dogs, and in one photograph she can be seen lying next to a Rottweiler that's on the floor.
The room then burst into laughter as the older woman exclaims: "Well that's not so funny!"

Since it was posted on December 26 the clip has gained lots of traction online, with more than 2.3 million likes.
Although it's unclear who gave Parises the blanket, she went on to clarify in the comments that the pet was euthanised at home because she didn't want him to die at the vet while wearing a muzzle.
She explained that while she hadn't wanted a photo to be taken in that moment her father, who helped had her raise the Rottweiler, "was attempting to get one last pic before he passed but sometimes .. ya gotta be quicker than that."
Many people rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts on the funny moment.
One TikTok user, Ashley, wrote: ""No he's literally dead in this picture" omg [oh my god]."
Another person, Brittney, added: "The way I DROPPED when she said 'he's dead in this picture' oh nooo."
Amber Brumfield typed: "Therapist will hear about this one."
Jocelyn shared: "I was like "I feel like that's nice but I can understand why it would upset her." But I did NOT expect that."
LongTaleAnime commented: "Not laughing at the trauma but her response of "Oh he's dead there."
Speaking to Newsweek, Parises explained: "For clarification, the blanket itself did not 'traumatize me.' The gift simply brought up memories from an unpleasant event that had significantly impacted me in a negative way.
"However, I am beyond thankful for the gift and I am glad millions of TikTok users were able to laugh from watching the video!"
