Model Yumi Nu has responded to Jordan Peterson's insult via a social media video using a verse from a Nicki Minaj song.
Jordan Peterson, a psychologist and author, took to Twitter to voice his opinion on Nu's cover of the new swimsuit edition of Sports Illustrated.
"Sorry. Not beautiful. And no amount of authoritarian tolerance is going to change that," he tweeted on the May 16.
Since then, Peterson has received backlash for his comments from other people on the internet. Peterson has since departed from Twitter as his staff does the tweeting.
In response, Nu took to TikTok to share her thoughts on the insult. The model used a verse from Nicki Minaj's song, "Itty Bitty Piggy." The viral video has over 300,000 and 50,000 likes and titled the video "anyways...."
"I mean I don't even know why you girls bother at this point, like, give it up... it's me, I win, you lose," Minaj raps in her song off a mixtape she released in 2021 of both old and new music, Beam Me Up Scotty.
Alongside Kim Kardashian, Maye Musk and Ciara, Nu is also one of the cover models of this year's issue.
She wrote "Yumi Nu's Year of Visibility" for Sports Illustrated's website to speak about her history and achievements.

"A lot of the fashion industry has become more inclusive toward people with bodies like mine in the last few years, some people—for example, designers at certain high-fashion houses and dumb, angry guys on the internet, among others—just haven't quite figured out yet that people who look like me belong everywhere everyone else does. But to them I say: We'll wait. We're here, and we're not going away," she said.
TikTok users were quick to defend Nu in the comment section.
"YOU ARE STUNNING MY IDOL," a user said.
"I'm so happy for you and you deserve that cover gorgeous," exclaimed a commenter.
"Single handedly got Jordan Peterson off Twitter. & looked AMAZING while doing it. Queeeen," one said.
"Jealousy is a disease and I hope they get well soon lol. You look stunning mama," exclaimed another.
A user commented, "fine, if the 'men' aren't interested, the women sure are."
"If you made Jordan Peterson mad then you did something right," stated a commenter.
"He is objectively wrong.... you are stunningly beautiful that's not a question," exclaimed another.
"also, you don't have to be beautiful for him or anyone else. why does he think women OWE him beauty? that is the most blaring thing here," another wrote.
Newsweek has reached out to Nu's representatives for comment.
