Celebrities are showing their support for Nick Carter following the death of his brother, Aaron Carter.
Nick Carter, a member of the Backstreet Boys, 42, posted a tribute to his 34-year-old brother on Sunday, November 6, after Aaron Carter's death on November 5.
TMZ was the first to report that the former child star was found dead in a bathtub on Saturday at his home in Lancaster, California. Aaron's death was later confirmed by Taylor Helgeson, his representative at Big Umbrella Management.
"My heart is broken. Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded," Nick captioned a slew of photos with his younger sibling via Instagram. "I have always held on to the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed."
"Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here," he continued. "I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you Chizz. Now you can finally have the peace you could never find here on earth….I love you baby brother."
In the comments, celebrities and fans expressed their condolences.
"Love you bro. Always here for you," fellow Backstreet Boys member AJ McLean said, which garnered more than 31,000 likes at the time of publication.
"I'm so sorry," Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi added.
Ridiculousness co-host Chanel West Coast, who recently gave birth to her first child, simply added a prayer hands emoji and red heart emoji, while actor Gregg Sulkin added a red heart too.
"I'm heartbroken for you and your family," Spice Girls alum Emma Bunton chimed in. "Sending so much love."

Aaron rose to fame as a child pop star with hits such as I Want Candy and Aaron's Party. He initially got his start in music by landing a record deal after opening for the Backstreet Boys in 1997. The Florida native also starred on shows like Lizzie McGuire, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, 7th Heaven and All That! and appeared as a contestant on season nine of Dancing With the Stars.
In 2019, Aaron revealed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that he had been diagnosed with multiple mental health issues following a DUI arrest.
Later that year, Nick announced he and his sister, Angel Carter—Aaron's twin—had filed for a restraining order against Aaron, saying in a statement that Aaron allegedly harbored "intentions of killing my wife and unborn child."
"After careful consideration, my sister Angel and I regret that we were required to seek a restraining order against our brother Aaron today," Nick tweeted. "We were left with no choice, but to take every measure possible to protect ourselves and our family."
In response, Aaron tweeted, "So my brother just got a restraining order against me. And I was just served lol," he said, adding, "Take care. @NickCarter we're done for life. I haven't seen him in four years. And I don't intend to ... I am astounded at the accusations being made against me, and I do not wish harm to anyone, especially my family."
Carter is survived by his son Prince, whom he shares with ex-fiancée Melanie Martin.
In September, Aaron entered rehab for a fifth time hoping to regain custody of the 11-month-old.
"I decided to enroll myself into that program. This will be my fifth time in rehabilitation, mainly to take care of aftercare," he said on social media at the time. "There's been no relapses. I haven't had any relapses... it's just triggers are big right now for me. You know, so, I just, I want my son back."
