An American Bully dog let his feelings be known after trying garden peas for the first time.
In a video posted to TikTok by Apollothebully_, a pet pooch by the name of Apollo got his first taste of the green vegetable—and it is fair to say he won't be going back for more anytime soon.
While some dogs may prefer meatier menu options or dry pet food, vegetables are an important part of a balanced canine diet. Pet nutritionist Gerald Pepin previously recommended dog owners try to include green leafy vegetables in their four-legged friend's food.
"Research tells us that adding green leafy vegetables to a dog's diet two or three times a week can considerably reduce the risk of cancer," he told Newsweek. "Green leafy vegetables would include kale, cabbage, Swiss chard, spinach, broccoli and Brussels sprouts."
However, according to animal charity Blue Cross, green peas are just as beneficial as they "are rich in protein, vitamins A, B1, B6, C and K, minerals and dietary fiber."
But, much like with young kids, dogs can take some convincing to eat their greens and Apollo looks like he is no different.

In the video, the adorable American Bully is seen, quite literally, sniffing at the green peas before turning his nose up at what is on offer.
Apollo then proceeds to repeatedly lift one paw up, as if saying "no thank you" to the food on offer. Briefly jumping up on his hind legs, he can even be heard making a low bark-like sound and shaking his head at what is being put in front of him.
The pet pooch is soon done with the pleasantries though, letting out a bark that is about as close to a no as any canine is likely to get.
Though his owner attempted to explain "it's a pea" this dog was simply not interested and while his vegetable-dodging efforts may have been frustrating for his owner, they have proven popular on social media with the video racking up over six million views and leaving viewers in stitches.
"I think you offended him," miriam5900 wrote with Elyse Torres commenting: "he said how dare you." Brunomarsleftmiddletoe felt it was clear Apollo was "absolutely appalled" at what was being offered to him while _krystal29 said: "I feel the same way about peas."
7lostdiamonds loved the way the pet pooch acted like the pea "talked smack about his mama" with TieDyeRose27 writing: "I swear he said 'I said NO!' at the end."
"He done pitched a fit and told you off!" user3739470291017 said. "No more peas for him ma'am!"
Apollo's TikTok bio states that he "Loves food and going to the park and all kinds of toys." From the looks of it, eating peas isn't going to be added to that list of likes anytime soon.
