Andy Reid Says Opposing Coaches Don't Call Him About Taylor Swift

Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid is highly supportive of Travis Kelce's relationship with Taylor Swift.

After Swift attended a game at Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium, Reid told reporters she can "stay around all she wants." Presumably, that was partly in reference to Kelce's season-high 179-yard performance. Still, Reid joked to Donovan McNabb last month that he was the first person to recommend the couple meet.

"Her dad is a big NFL fan, so I had met her when she was real young and her dad," Reid said. "I joked about setting Kelce up, but, you know, I'm just saying."

On Monday, Reid was asked by reporters whether opposing coaches ever reach out for tickets or an opportunity to meet Swift.

"No, nobody has really mentioned much on that," Reid said with a smile. "It is what it is, and I'm just glad he's found somebody he likes and she's found somebody she likes. That's a good thing."

Kelce and Swift had a bye week. After the Chiefs defeated the Miami Dolphins in Frankfurt, Germany, last weekend, Kelce went back to Kansas City, then jetted to Argentina on Thursday, arriving on Friday. The couple met in Buenos Aires, where Swift had a weekend full of shows as part of the international leg of her Eras Tour, and Kelce was spotted at her show, dancing and singing along.

At one point, Swift updated the words to her hit song "Karma" as a shout-out to Kelce.

"Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me," Swift sang, revising the song's original lyric: "Karma is the guy on the screen, coming straight home to me."

After the show, Swift and Kelce embraced in a moment that set off a social-media firestorm.

On Monday, Kelce needed to be back in Kansas City for practice. The Chiefs have perhaps the biggest game on their schedule looming, a Monday Night Football showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles employ Kelce's older brother, Jason, as their long-time center, but, more important, they were the Chiefs' Super Bowl opponent last year, and they hold the NFL's best record at 8-1.

The Chiefs will probably need a big game from Kelce without Swift in attendance. She is scheduled to play a show in Brazil the evening before, so the chances of her attending the "Kelce Bowl" seem slim.

Still, slim isn't impossible, and if Swift does make the trek, it doesn't sound as if she needs to worry about Eagles coach Nick Sirianni bothering her for an autograph.
