On Monday, actress Millie Bobby Brown appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show and spoke of how she would be interested in playing Britney Spears in a movie should the opportunity ever arise.
"I want to play a real person, and I think for me, Britney. [It] would be Britney Spears. I think her story, first of all, resonates with me," Brown said. "Just growing up in the public eye watching her videos, watching interviews of how when she was younger."
Spears, though, doesn't seem too happy about the suggestion from the Enola Holmes 2 and Stranger Things star. In a Tuesday Instagram post, Spears indicated that she wasn't even open to the idea of a biopic.
"I hear about people wanting to do movies about my life...dude I'm not dead!!! Although it's pretty f****** clear they preferred me dead," Spears wrote in part.

Fans on Spears' Instagram tried to make the case for Brown with the "Baby One More Time" singer.
"We love you, Britney," wrote one person in the comment section of Spears' post. "Also, I think Millie Bobby Brown meant it as a compliment that she wanted to play you in a movie and that she'd honor you properly, don't be offended Queen!"
Spears has been very active on social media since the end of her 13-year conservatorship in mid-November 2021. The pop star, who married longtime partner Sam Asghari in June, frequently posts risqué videos and pictures on her Instagram account, while also lashing out at people who she claims have wronged her.
Recently, Spears seemingly took aim at her friend Selena Gomez—who attended her nuptials to Asghari—in a cryptic post in October about an awards speech from 2016. In that speech at the American Music Awards, Gomez said she didn't want to see people flaunt their bodies online but rather what's in their hearts.
"Don't you just love the nerve of women who stand firmly getting awards and speak on their beliefs about not showing their bodies on instagram ???!!!!!" Spears said in the since-deleted Instagram post.
She added, "They say 'This is NOT something I would do' yet those women are the very ones who get 4 million dollar budget videos made about sucking and licking on homemade ice cream!!!!"
The mention of ice cream was seemingly a reference to Gomez's music video with K-pop group Blackpink for the song "Ice Cream."
Newsweek reached out to a Spears representative for comment.
