Opening up about life under her conservatorship, Britney Spears has revealed how she once considered fleeing the country with her "secret" boyfriend.

The pop star released a new song—"Hold Me Closer"—with Elton John over the weekend, but she also shared a 22-minute audio recording on social media which contained a number of shocking revelations.

Spears recently deactivated her Instagram account, so instead uploaded the file to YouTube. However, it's since been deleted.

As well as revealing she had a secret relationship, Spears said she's received offers from the likes of Oprah Winfrey for an interview, and also spoke about her father's reaction to her breaking free from the conservatorship and much more.

Spears didn't reveal the identity of her secret partner, but did state that it was serious enough for her to consider fleeing the country with him.

"I remember one time I was backstage and I needed my inhaler and I opened up to my assistant, because I had my phone with me, which I'm not supposed to have, and my phone underneath the stage. But I said to her, 'You know what I'm doing?'" Spears recalled, referencing her secret relationship.

"I was talking to a guy and he wanted to just leave the country with me. We had it all set up to just leave, and it was a secret relationship," Spears said.

"And I said, my biggest fear was what would my dad do? If I did do something wrong? What if I left the country? And what if they found me and what would they do?

"And I said, 'I feel like they would lock me up or something or really hurt me,' and she looked at me and she said, 'Are you kidding me, Britney? Your dad would never do that to you.' And I didn't even do anything wrong, and he still did it."

Spears didn't expand upon what she meant by "he still did it" in this situation. There is no indication that anyone involved in the conservatorship broke the law, or was acting in a malicious way.

There was no timeline mentioned in relation to the story so it's unclear what year this incident took place, or who the identity of the secret lover might have been.

It's likely that the conversation with her assistant took place at her Las Vegas residency show, Britney: Piece of Me. This show lasted from December 27, 2013 to December 31, 2017.

Aside from this moment, Spears explained moments from her conservatorship, including how she entered it, and how her father, Jamie Spears, warned her off trying to break free from it.

"I get nothing out of sharing all of this," Spears said towards the end of the audio recording, "I have offers to do interviews with Oprah and so many people. Lots and lots of money, but it's insane. I don't want any of it. For me, it's beyond a sit down proper interview."

Spears went on to say that she'd want top stand in front of her family and scream and spit in their faces. "How the f*** did the get away with it?" Spears also asked as she also admitted to questioning whether there is a god at that time.

With no Instagram account to now post pictures and videos to, Spears has been uploading her dancing videos to Twitter instead.

Late on Sunday night she posted one of her dancing to a Cardi B song. "Life goes on," she wrote, "On rare occasions there can be something sought after, something that makes us wanna go further."

Spears' new song with Elton John is available to buy, stream and download now.
