'Coral Island': All Romance Options

Romance is an optional mechanic in Coral Island that can help players expand on their character's life on the island. Out of the current 50+ characters on the island, players can romance 22 of the various NPCs that make up the island's population.

Unlike Stardew Valley and other games in the genre, all 22 of Coral Island's current romanceable characters can be romanced no matter what the player's chosen gender is. As such, all players will have access to the full list of bachelors and bachelorettes.

And, as usual in life simulation titles like Coral Island, players will find that each NPC has a different personality, including the things they like, dislike and do.

Here's a full list of all the romance options available in Coral Island as of the current release. This list will update as new options become available.

Mark in Coral Island
Mark is just one of many romanceable characters found in 'Coral Island.' Stairway Games

First, let's look at all the bachelors available in Coral Island:

  • Ben
  • Charles
  • Kenny
  • Luke
  • Noah
  • Pablo
  • Rafael
  • Scott
  • Surya
  • Theo
  • Mark
  • Wakuu

The rest of the romanceable characters fall under the game's bachelorette category. Here's a full list of all those romanceable options:

  • Alice
  • Eva
  • Leah
  • Lily
  • Macy
  • Millie
  • Nina
  • Suki
  • Yuri
  • Zarah

As noted above, each romanceable character has different likes and dislikes. Because the game is still so new, players haven't quite figured out what all the different characters like. For now, players should spend each day talking to the characters they fancy, and learn more about them as time goes on.

Stairway Games also plans to add more romanceable characters in the future. This is because the studio's Kickstarter for the life simulation game managed to reach several additional milestones, including one that is expanding a small subset of merfolk into a merkingdom. This expansion will also introduce two romanceable merfolk, though Stairway Games has yet to share any details on who those characters will be.

Romancing a character in Coral Island will allow players to get closer to those NPCs. Then, players will also be able to marry those characters and have up to two children to expand their family – if they so choose. This is a common mechanic seen in these types of games, so it isn't surprising to see Coral Island following suit.

Coral Island players should also make sure they learn how to get the Fishing Pole, as fishing can be a great way to earn money for gifts and other items in Stairway Games' early access life sim. Players can also unlock the mines to start collecting ores and other crafting materials.
