A DoorDash delivery driver revealed in a viral TikTok an appreciation "goodie bag" given to them allegedly by McDonald's employees, igniting a discussion about the situation in the comments.

The now-viral TikTok, captioned "Thank you McDonald's" along with a series of hashtags, has been viewed over 600,000 times since it was posted on March 4.

The 16-second clip, shared by user @uberchroniclez, or Uber Chronicles of S&J, began with an image of a McDonald's delivery order in a bag.

"I was doing DoorDash today when I got a McDonald's order," the screen read and was said out loud.

Next, the TikToker said, "With the order, they gave me a goodie bag for driver appreciation day," lifting up a bag that said, "Delivery driver, thank you, we appreciate you! Here is a free sandwich on us!"

Turning the bag over, the TikToker continued, "The bag has candy and a free meal coupon." Inside the bag, candy and paper with a supposed coupon can be seen as well through the clear packaging.

"So I accepted all McDonald's orders today," the user revealed, showing a number of the thank-you kits sitting in their passenger seat.

According to Statista, the online food delivery sector is expected to climb to $339.257 million in 2022. The website also reported that the average annual expenditure on delivery services in the United States amounted to $5.37 per consumer unit in 2020.

The TikTok video has garnered over 85,000 likes with almost 500 comments so far. A discussion has ensued about everything from McDonald's to the appreciation bags themselves to the driver's abundance of goodie bags.

Some people honed in on the driver's many bags in their passenger seat. "I went from 'Aw' to 'Omg,'" a TikToker admitted over the situation.

TikTokers weighed in on the driver's decision to pick up multiple McDonald's orders. "Hahaha score! I would have accepted every McDonald's order too," a viewer said.

Many people thought the bags were excellent ideas. "Good way to get drivers to accept orders," a TikToker weighed in.

However, one viewer called it "free coupons for low tips."

Another TikTok user said that people who order McDonald's don't actually tip. "So McDonald's gotta make up for it to get drivers to pick up orders Lol," they said.

While a TikToker said the establishment has to give out the goodie bags "because delivery from McDonald's orders isn't worth it."

Others were in full support of the appreciation bags. "Yo that's actually really cool," a viewer admitted. "Make that dough! Free food!"
