Former President Donald Trump's golf club in New Jersey was hit by the 4.8 magnitude earthquake that rattled the tristate area on Friday.

A map of the impact puts the Trump National Golf Club Bedminster at the epicenter of the quake. It is unclear if the club sustained any damages at this time. Newsweek reached out to Trump National via inquiry form for comment.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the earthquake hit at 10:23 a.m. ET near Whitehouse Station, New Jersey. Trump's golf club is located less than seven miles northeast of the area.

"There is a low likelihood of casualties and damage," USGS said.

Friday's earthquake was felt from Philadelphia to New York and there are reports that tremors were felt even as far as Maryland and Massachusetts. USGS estimates that more than 42 million people felt the quake.

"Our region just experienced an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.7, with an epicenter near Readington in Hunterdon County," New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy said in a statement shared on X, formerly Twitter. "We have activated our State Emergency Operations Center. Please do not call 911 unless you have an actual emergency."

New York Governor Kathy Hochul said there were no "life-threatening situations" nor reports of significant damage, but warned that "there is always the possibility of aftershocks." She said her administration is taking the matter "very seriously." Flights to airports in New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Newark were temporarily held.

The USGS said there is a 46 percent likelihood of another earthquake with a magnitude of 3.0 or higher to hit in the next week. The National Tsunami Warning Center said there was no danger of a tsunami on the East Coast after Friday's quake.

Trump's New Jersey golf club, which he purchased in 2002, was nicknamed the "Summer White House" during his presidency because of his frequent visits and stays at the property. In 2017, it became one of three official presidential residencies. The other two were the Trump Tower in Manhattan and Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.

In October 2020, Trump tested positive for COVID-19 shortly after visiting the Bedminster club for a fundraising event. He was hospitalized at Walter Reed Medical Center the day after the fundraiser.
